The Weber Wi-Fi Enabled Connect Smart Grilling Hub introduces an efficient way to monitor the temperature by syncing to the Weber Connect app, so you can conveniently adjust the Connect Hub. The Grilling Hub is capable of working on any grill, so it is not just limited to Weber grills. Comes with one meat probe and one ambient probe to help weather the different conditions, while also capable of having up to four (4) probes in at once. Is easy to charge the Hub with a USB rechargeable battery, and the LED display will let you know when it is done charging. The back of the Connect Hub has an embedded magnet that will attach the device to any magnetic surface. The Weber Connect app features a variety of different grilling programs, step-by-step assistance during grilling, and even alerts the user when it is time to flip the food on the grill.

Works great, needs some trending data

Love the product! I can leave the house while doing a long smoke now. The ambient temp probe and the meat probe are great. I just whisk this had the trending line data like the iGrill Series has. It helps especially to know when a "full packer" has hit a plateau or if the ambient temp is fluctuating because of the weather. A trending graph would help.

Needs improvmnts

It's fairly good after the last app update (at least it shows 100% when the battery is fully charged) but it really needs more improvements on the app side. My 2 cents... put together best features of the iGrill app, the Weber Grills app and the Connect app and we will get something really good.

Looks good. But horrible reviews

What I would like, is a Digital thermometer, that monitors the ambient temperature, and three or four other items in the grill, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, just a thermometer. May be 6" x 4", backlit screen that stays on for more than three seconds. something that monitors them all at once on the screen. No clicking no looking around no time in Alaska no equator spinning algorithm. Just a thermometer

Bring back the mini features!

WiFi connectivity is great but bring back the mini features. Step by step guidance is annoying. Give me temperature by meat and a graph. And where's the Apple Watch App!! Please bring back these features to the Weber Connect. Great concept, poor software.

Ambient Prob Reading 680 Degrees

It's a software issue that been known for a while. I get that update for the software is coming. What is the interim solution till the update?

Concise list of what works and what doesnt

You can quickly see form the LONG list of complaints that there are still problems with the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub. Here is a summary of what is the status as of August 11, 2020 so you dont have to read all of the reviews: WHAT DOESNT WORK: 1. The ambient probe: It will immediately go to 680' and stay there. This is a known software issue with the unit. This "bug" has been reported for over two months so the promise of a "soon to be released fix" is doubtful. 2. The battery charge indicator: The unit will only show a max charge of 85% even when it is fully charged. This "bug" has been reported for over two months so the promise of a "soon to be released fix" is doubtful. WHAT WORKS BUT HAS ISSUES: 3. Connecting to WiFi. This works but can take several tries before finally being able to connect. Here are some pointers if you experience issues: You have to manually enter the WiFi networks name and it is case sensitive so make sure you enter this exactly as it is configured. The WiFi only works with 2.4GHz... if you have a 5GHz only WiFi it wont work. Double check to make sure your password is entered correctly. Make sure the hub is charged up and is not on red/low power. You need to first connect to the hub from your smartphone over bluetooth to set it up. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network that you plan to use the hub with. Once your hub is connected to the WiFi you can switch your phone back to your 5GHz WiFi if you have both on your router and it should still be able to communicate with your hub (assuming both networks can see each other and one is not a private/guest from the other one). WHAT IS "DISAPPOINTING" The app: The app is a nice app and is being improved with updates, but if you previosuly used the iGrill app you wil lbe disappointed. The Weber Connect app does not have all of the features that the iGrill app has. Hoepfully overtime this will improve, but currently if you consider yoruself a "serious" or "pro" griller than you may find the lack of some of the trending graphs and settings lacking to your needs. RECOMMENDATION If you decided to buy this plan to be patient and deal with the frustration of having a product that only delivers a portion of what it promises. Today it is good enough to put probes in your meat and track the temperature so that you know when to flip and remove the meat from the grill. Thats about all it is good for today.

Worse than half baked

After more attempts at using this item, I need to revise my rating from 2 to 1 star, it would be 0 if I had that choice. The temperature sensor is very inaccurate. It I was trying to use for indirect cooking to maintain my new Weber at 400 degrees. With all 4 burner on high the sensor blanked out, which I expected, at 600+ degrees. BTW, had figure out myself this was the max. So I started turning burners down and off starting with the center ones where the temp prob was. BTW, I opened the top to cool off the grill to make sure the temp unit was working. I eventually got to one side burner on lowest setting and the connect unit was still blanked out, maxed at 600+ degrees. My old thermometer, brand name CHICAGO BRICK OVEN, which I have used for a couple years with great results, showed the correct temperature. I suppose sometime in the future the software maybe updated to fix this problem but for now it totally useless to me.

Half Baked Hardware and Software

Can't say that I would recommend this. Great idea but unit and app have serious problems. The first one I received would not connect to my phone with app, also had a problem with touch screen on unit. I called support number and very quickly the person on the phone said the unit was defective and they sent me a new one. Received new unit in a couple of weeks and it appeared to work. While I was waiting I tried the the first one again and it magically worked although touch screen still not working well. A couple weeks later I had some grilling to do so got out the 2nd unit. I could not get it to connect to wifi on phone, couldn't get the 1st one to connect either. Finally deleted and reinstalled app, still neither would connect. Did this 2 more time and finally the 1st one connected, still couldn't get the 2nd one to connect. Did my grilling and it seemed to work as intended. All this was complicated by the incomprehensible start up instructions included. I fully expect to have the same problem the next time I want to use it/them.
