It's a very nice piece of kit but don't buy the 850 unless you plan on cooking for 10 to 20 people on a regular basis. Goes through a lot of pellets even when cooking a smaller amount of food as the cubic space is large. Also strange that the door is not air tight and smoke is wasted as it seeps out the gaps in the door.

I bought a Timberline 850 last line summer. The ignition on this unit has not worked correctly since the second time I used it. It started by racing up to 500 degrees when lite to not lighting at all. After replacing the hot rod, it ignited correctly one time. Now it's back to not lighting. Considering the price of this unit, it should work better than this. Now it's just clutter on my deck

I have done a whole brisket, chicken legs and breasts, pork chops, St. Louis style ribs, and my daughter even did a couple of batches of the gingerbread cookies. I'm doing a 10lb. Prime Rib tomorrow for Christmas and am totally confident that it will turn out perfect. I have never had that feeling before! I live in NW Montana and it's pretty cool up here in the winter, but this cooker is so well insulated that it is very capable of maintaining temp even if I'm searing something at 500° F! With the built in temp probe and the WIFIRE I can sit in my recliner and monitor or change settings as I need. I have fought with gas grills, and electric and gas smokers and temp control was impossible. This unit is the ultimate! I will never buy another cooker that's not a Traeger!

I had in issue with wi-fi. Make sure customer service asks you what version you have. I had one that was a day older that new version. They send a replacement quickly. Now I am enjoying using the wifi app with automatic menu down loads. Very cool! Still having issues with initial start up over heating and slow to move up or down temperatures as required for cook directions. Getting better results each time I use it. Thank you Traeger for moving me from not satisfied to happy! I would now recommend this product.

Got rid of my pro for a Timberline 850. Wish I'd kept the Pro. Had to replace thermocouple as it kept running away. Temp got so hot that it bubbled the paint and 6 months later I'm still waiting for part. Wi-Fi is un reliable and keeps dropping out. You can troubleshoot and troubleshoot connects then drops out. Save your money buy the pro.

Had the Timberline 850 for about 2 weeks and used it 5 time now. Absolutely the best grill I have ever cooked on. Only really negative thing is that the front shelf is way to shallow. You cannot set anything on it with the lid closed. When trying to take meat off the grill you have to set your plate or pan on the side which really gives big opportunity to drop it on the ground. Why hasn't Traeger made an accessory folding front shelf that is deep enough for a plate or pan to set on with the lid closed?

The smoker works great and is able to maintain temperatures even on cold weather. The only issue I have is the WiFi connection but I do not really need it. BBQ guys also has great customer service
It has been just over a year since getting my Timberline 850 delivered and I am just as excited about using it today as I was then! The quality of the unit is solid, it looks just as good today as the day I purchased it and working great. The D2 controller is awesome, super easy to use and the temps are maintained to within few degrees (I have tested with other thermometers). Some have stated problems with connecting to WiFi but I had no trouble at all, first time it worked seamlessly. I love the D2 and Wifi, I have controlled the temps of my grill from across town and getting the alerts on the probe temps has allowed me to switch to the keep warm mode within the App which has been awesome. I live in Ottawa, Canada and I have used my Timberline on the coldest of days (-40) with no problems at all, shovel a path to it and it has always started up and heated up with no problems at all. It does have a cold weather start setting so it takes a few minutes longer to start. The all around double wall construction is what made me pick the Timberline due to the cold temps and I am glad I did. I also keep mine very clean and vacuum out the dust regularly and wipe down the inside and outside of the grill often, looks brand new still. Everything I cook on the grill has been exceptional, especially any type of poultry from full roast turkeys to chicken breasts or thighs, always juicy and flavourful. I have done Prime Ribs roasts, reverse seared and the taste was superb with the right about of smoke. Ribs have always been great and the queso dip with chorizo sausage is always a hit with guests. I also purchased the rib rack recently and love that I can fit a ton of ribs on it and it fits the grill nicely. I also like the orange tray I ordered with it, nice for pulling meats off and for serving outside too. After a year+ I am very happy with the purchase and by the looks of things, this thing will last many many years as well. Only downfall, the cover for it has began to fade and show a lot of aging, a bit of leaking too, that is disappointing. I would highly recommend the Timberline 850, I have been happy with the performance, size and most of all the cook results, everything is always delicious.

My 850 is 35 days old and the right kid hing fell off. Paint was damaged on left side of grill and right. Contacted Traeger and they are sending a part, but said the damage to the paint is not covered under warranty. Now when part arrives I have to schedule an authorized Rep to come replace the hinges for this is a factory constructed area. Expect better quality from an 1800 dollar grill

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
