Just bought Pursuit 20 and never stays running. Auger is weak and won't pull longer pellets through. It has plugged up every single time. If I stand there and hand feed it works. Using camp chef pellets.

I've had the grill just under a year, and while the food is good, the quality of my unit leaves a lot to be desired. This was my first grill, and I bought it because of the portability and the Camp Chef brand name, so my expectations for quality were high. I've used the grill a lot and as I commute, the grill is on the move a lot. My biggest gripe is the paint Quality. I don't know what paint or powder coat they use on the grill but it is not durable enough for this grill. I have several spots where the paint is falling off and rust is developing on the inside and outside of the grill. mind you, I followed the initial instructions in the manual for making sure the paint was set before doing any cooking. clearly this didn't help as i am finding new areas paint is falling off every time I use the grill. The second gripe is the metal support for the auger motor. If for some reason your grill auger gets stuck on pellets ie moisture or some other reason, the flimsy metal bends, effectively stopping the auger and your cooking. It just seems like that part should have been beefier or solid from the factory. I've had to use wood shims to keep the auger motor stable enough to turn properly. The third gripe is the ash clean out slide plate. For some reason mine likes to not close properly so I have to be super careful to make sure it's closed properly before I start the grill. For those reasons I can't give the grill more than a 3 star rating. The 3 stars is solely based on the food produced, which the guys at the firehouse loved. I have yet to have a bad meal, I just wish the durability and quality would have been better. I did purchase this right when it first came out so it could have been a fluke and maybe I'm the only one with these issues. I can't recommend against the product but would hope Camp Chef takes my feedback and improves the grill as I believe them to be a good company. More than likely I will wind up repairing and painting the grill this winter.
This is a great smaller pellet grill. It is by no means lightweight or poorly made. It is heavy, but I can move it by myself with the solid leg/wheel structure. Overall the construction is solid. Nothing feels flimsy or lightweight. Setup is fairly easy, removing all the packing and protection takes about 1/2 an hour. Getting the legs extended makes it a lot easier to setup. Make sure you read the directions about how to unlock the legs top and bottom! After it is up, it is easier to attach the handle and get everything unpacked. Attaching the handle is about the only assembly required. Everything else is already assembled. All stickers are attached with magnets and come off easily with no residue. There is plenty of room inside for 2-3 chickens in upright or lying down, a turkey or a couple of pork shoulders. The startup and process of cooking is clear from the manual and easily accessed control panel. The 10# hopper seems sufficient for 6-8 hours of slow cooking. Higher temperatures will require more monitoring of the pellet level as it burns through them faster. There isn't an easy way to empty the hopper if you want to switch pellets. I've seen small shop vacuum solutions that is probably the best way to go to clean out the hopper. You'd have to remove the top grid to do it by hand or vacuum them out. It would be nice to have an empty function like some of the larger Camp Chef grills. Cooking doesn't seem to add as strong of a smoke flavor as some of my other smokers. You may want to buy a small wood chip box that sits on the grill, and provides some more direct smoke if you like the stronger flavor. The included probes plug in easily and seem to work well to monitor the meat temperature from the control panel. The bottle openers works well! I did purchase a cover for it and that is essential for weather protection of both the electronics and metal parts.
I bought this smoker to keep in my RV, it is a good sort-of portable smoker. The weight is the biggest issue with a "portable" smoker, but the overall quality of the smoker to cook makes up for the weight. The one issue I have with it is the weak and poorly designed way the folding legs are retained while up or down, the weak pushbuttons have all broken with-in a month, so now I use a small bungee cord to hold the legs while in the folded position. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

Works great but hopper should have been pitched some pellets flow better. Also a little heavy for one person to load in camper.
I bought this a month ago and am very happy with it. I like the ash dump and the 2 temp probes. It is simple to use and takes your food to a higher level.
I bought the Pursuit 20 for my camper. This unit is awesome to take camping with you.

Nicer than I had anticipated. Works well and the features are great. It's a bit heavy for one person to handle as far as being "portable", but I prefer the superior quality so it's a non-issue for me.

This is my first pellet grill . I was looking for something that i can take with me on the vacation and also use at home . I researched all major player's grills for about a month and ended up with two choices : GMG Davey Crockett and Camp Chef Pursuit. GMG wifi feature seems like a great idea but i have read many reviews that state this feature is buggy and often doesn't work . Also Gmg grill looked smaller than Pursuit. The Pursuit is big enough to cook two 13lb briskets at the same time . So far i smoked pork butt , ribs, baby back ribs , brisket , flat iron steaks , hamburgers and everything comes out juicy and delicious. I have used the grill when the temperature outside was in the teens and temperature of the grill was pretty stable + - 15 degrees from preset 225 . I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

this is our first pellet grill and we could not be happier. Easy to move and set up. the cooking area was perfect for two slabs of ribs on the top rack. Start up and temp control were spot on. Nice smoke flavor at the end. Pellet consumption for six hours of run time seemed minimal.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
