Two cooks and the latches quit working. Asked for help and I was told to contact camp chef. 2 months later camp chef sends just one latch. Poor customer service from camp chef and now hamstrung with BBQ Guys because I was to keep a big box to be able to swap even or get a refund. Would prefer a refund but based on their rules that's a no. Very disappointed.

Bought six months ago both temp probes quit within two uses now the internal temp probe is 30° off imagine trying to smoke something 30° hotter than what it says it is! a piece of crap
Awesome smoker set it and forget it. Its that simple.
I was fortunate enough to get one of these in the spring of 2022 and we got it for our camper. This grill has been amazing and has blown away everyone that has tasted the food we have cooked on it. I have made steaks, corn on the cob, breakfast sausage, brats hot dogs, burgers, smoked hard boiled eggs, etc. and everything has come out amazing. I had a friend we were camping with recently tell me the steak we ate off of the grill was the best he's ever had. The first time we took it out was shortly after I bought it and I hadn't had the opportunity to smoke it in yet, so I did it at the campsite. It created a lot of smoke and attracted a few campers. I showed them how it folded down for transportation as well as how much cooking surface there is (more sq. in. than my now retired original Jr. Traeger!). They all came back later for a taste and agreed it was amazing. 2 of the 4 campers texted me later and shared that they bought Camp Chef smokers when they returned to home to Montana and North Dakota, respectively. You won't regret this grill. The clips that secure the lid closed are great for transportation, and the clips that hold the hopper closed keep the rain and water and the pellets dry. Amazing grill!
I have had this smoker/grill for a little over a year, and for the most part I have been pleased. We where full time RVers and this fit the bill, it works great if you keep in mind that it is small and cannot replace a full sized unit. I tried to use it like my larger pellet smoker that I had when we lived in a house, and attempted a small 10lb brisket. This was a disaster, with the temp set to 225, the bottom of that brisket was way overcooked due to the height of the bottom grill grate from the heat source. This rang true for any sizable cut of meat that i was trying to smoke. I ended up having to put the meat on the top rack (given it wasn't too tall of a cut of meat) and that solved the problem. I wish the bottom grate was a little farther from the heat source to protect the meat. Now if you are grilling burgers then the current set up is perfect! I also wish I could purchase a drip tray without vents, I didn't find the "direct heat" function to be all that reliable unless you put your meat directly over the flame cup, pretty much one steak at a time. This is a great smoker and great build, just tamper your expectations on what you can cook on this thing.
We bought this Pursuit because of its folded dimensions. It fits perfectly in the basement storage of our Thor Aria motorhome. Easy fold up, easy clean, easy storage when on the road. I use a Traeger at home and have to say after a week of cooking on this camp chef...I might like it better than the Traeger. Its got a more intuitive screen, easier to set it to run. My only complaint is no wifi. I would love to monitor it on my iPhone. But I guess you cant haver everything. Overall, it's a winner. We are thrilled with its performance and would recommend it to anybody traveling in an RV.
Great little grill, we have the larger pellet grill and wanted something we can take camping, this is a great alternative.

The fold up legs on mine do not fold correctly. The legs with the wheels are fine. The other legs do not lock properly. I had to put screws in them to keep it secure.
Bought this grill because of travel ball and we like to grill. The pursuit 20 is awesome so far. It gets up to temperature quite fast for pellet grill, it also holds its temp really well. The only I would change is how the legs fold. Manual says to lay it on it side, that is not handy but overall enjoy this grill
Questions & Answers
Hi RagingBell. Startup wattage for the Camp Chef Pursuit is 330-watts. After startup, it pulls 5 amps, but requires a 110-volt power supply.
Asked by RagingBell | Answered by WesleyHi, and thanks for asking! The folded dimensions on the Camp Chef Pursuit are 38" w x 18.5" d x 21" h.
Asked by bdonze | Answered by LoganHi Jenny, the Camp Chef Pursuit 20 just uses electricity and wood pellets, no gas is required!
Asked by Jenny | Answered by RyanHi Scott. Yes, when using indirect heat, the grill functions similarly to a convection oven. Smoke mode is used for cooking foods at lower temperatures with more smoke. Smoking is usually done with indirect heat, but they are not the same thing.
Asked by Scott | Answered by Joey, BBQGuys ExpertHi Dale, thanks for asking. Both this and the Traeger Tailgater are excellent choices so we can see why you'd have trouble choosing. If you're worried about space, however, this Camp Chef takes the cake with a total grilling area of 501 Sq. Inches with two grilling ares compared to Trager's 300 Sq. Inches on one grilling area. Hope this helps!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
