Take the convenience and rich flavor of a wood burning pellet grill anywhere with the Ranger portable pellet grill by Traeger. The Ranger offers even more control over grilling temperatures thanks to the Digital Arc Controller and 36,000 BTU output, allowing you to set grill temperatures in 5-degree increments.

Ranger: Perfect for On-the-Go Grilling and Smoking

This portable pellet grill is perfect for camping, tailgating, picnics, and boating. This little grill runs off a standard 110-volt outlet. The 184 square inch porcelain coated grilling surface produces excellent sear marks and easily cleans up. The natural airflow inside of the grill allows for convection cooking, so you can bake pizza right on your grill and cook meat at lower temperatures without any flipping. Enjoy breakfast on the go and sear steaks to perfection using the included cast iron griddle. Rubber feet and latches on the hood keep your grill secure during transportation.

Easy to Start

Traeger grills feature an auto-start system that is simple and safe to use. When you turn on the grill, the auger begins to feed pellets into the firepot while the draft induction fan feeds air into it. The igniter rod is activated and glows red hot for the first four minutes to ignite the pellets in the firepot. The 8-pound capacity hopper provides plenty of on-the-go grilling time.

Traeger Ranger FAQ

Can you smoke on the Traeger Ranger?

The Ranger can hold temperatures in the low-and-slow range. The only limitation is its size - the cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, so larger items may be a bit too large to fit.

Does the Traeger Ranger need electricity?

The Ranger requires a standard 110 volt outlet.

How much can you fit on a Traeger Ranger?

The cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, which does limit capacity. BBQGuys estimates you can grill 6 burgers at one time.

Can you smoke a brisket on a Traeger Ranger?

Absolutely! The only limitation is size, so you may have a challenge trying to fit a very large brisket in the Ranger. We've seen briskets up to 20 inches in length and 12 inches in width, so you'll probably want to go with a medium-sized brisket. Trimming your brisket may also help it fit.

Can the Traeger Ranger get wet?

It can, but note that if the lid gets wet that will likely cause the internal temperature to drop, which can affect your cook time. We recommend keeping it under cover when not in use.

How big is the Traeger Ranger?

The Ranger is 21 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 13 inches high. It weighs in at a whopping 60 lbs.

Looks Good But Fails in price and execution

The problem with these companies making these twitchy little gadgets is that first its too small. Cant do large items and have to cook each meat separately. Item does not travel well due to weight. Also assembly is too difficult and temperature gadget not spot on. No real tech support besides long videos. Now its has become a project inside a project. They count on lazy people to purchase this item then those lazy people find out its too much work. I can buy the cheap super market grill and be done with it ands save $400. Their marketing team should be dismissed.

Horrible Product and service

This is the third Traeger I've purchased. I used it once before it broke and after two long calls with tech support there was still no resolve. They couldn't help me reassemble my grill that literally fell apart during disassembly to replace the auger. The video call was over 80 minutes!! At that point I gave up and disposed of this piece of garbage. The quality of their products have certainly declined as well as their support. Their warranty repairs are expected to be done by the consumer with no offer to replace a product that never worked correctly . I will never purchase their products again

Great flavor from a small package!

Bought the Ranger grill in September 2024 and have cooked a bunch of great meals on it. I have used it in a mix of weather, mostly in the 30s to 50Fs, and have had no issues with it keeping temperature. I have used it to smoke salmon (180F), chicken (250F), and fresh sausage (220F). It is relatively easy to clean up, easy to set up and use, and the flavor from the pellets is great. It can hold a surprisingly large amount of food. Last night I smoked a large chicken and placed 6 fresh sausages around the side and still had plenty of room for the smoke to move around. I have experimented with running it as a smoker at ~250F to get flavor on a chicken and then finish at 450F for 30 minutes to crisp up the skin and it has worked quite well (just have to watch for flare ups). I bought this to use when traveling in our Airstream and it has been great for that. I keep in in the tow vehicle and pull it out and have it set up in no more than 10 minutes.

An excellent product for RVing and at home

I bought this when we got our new RV and used it on our first trip. Setup and seasoning was simple. Cook temps are accurate and results were great. Made 3-2-1 ribs this weekend and I think they are some of the best I've ever eaten.

Game changer

This grill is the best! It cooks my food perfectly and tastes great. Easy to use and stays clean with the tray, no more propane needed.

Temperature Control Swings

I bought the Ranger Portable smoker a couple years ago. And this is the second time I have had problems with wild Temperature swings. I have seen it go from my set temp to as high as 450* and back down to 135*. It works for cooking with the grill plate but as far as smoking, I will have to find a different smoker. I contacted Traeger and they sent me a replacement controller and that seemed to fix it, but the same problem has come back, I am not going to replace it again. I am not very happy with the product.

Needs WiFire Support

I really wish this grill had WiFire. I bought it because it's the only size that will fit under the cover in my truck bed but really wish it had wifire.

WiFire & Super Smoke

Love it!! However I'm coming up on needing to replace my 2018 model. When are you going to add wifire and super smoke to this little beauty?

Issues on Day 3

Received the unit on October 17, 2024. Seasoned it that weekend. Cooked a steak on it last week. A little learning curve from my Timberline XL. Tried to use it last night and auger motor went bad. Spent a couple of hours diagnosing it this morning, another hour with support and they are sending me a new motor next week. Obviously the Ranger has issues.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

30-Day Returns

Return all new, unused, and unassembled items in their original packaging, and we'll give you a full refund minus the cost of the original AND return shipping.

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.
