Take the convenience and rich flavor of a wood burning pellet grill anywhere with the Ranger portable pellet grill by Traeger. The Ranger offers even more control over grilling temperatures thanks to the Digital Arc Controller and 36,000 BTU output, allowing you to set grill temperatures in 5-degree increments.
Advance Grilling Logic ensures precise temperature performance, while the included meat probe and built-in cook timer allow you check temps and know when to check on food. A built-in Keep Warm Mode ensures foods are hot and ready when you are.
Ranger: Perfect for On-the-Go Grilling and Smoking
This portable pellet grill is perfect for camping, tailgating, picnics, and boating. This little grill runs off a standard 110-volt outlet. The 184 square inch porcelain coated grilling surface produces excellent sear marks and easily cleans up. The natural airflow inside of the grill allows for convection cooking, so you can bake pizza right on your grill and cook meat at lower temperatures without any flipping. Enjoy breakfast on the go and sear steaks to perfection using the included cast iron griddle. Rubber feet and latches on the hood keep your grill secure during transportation.
Easy to Start
Traeger grills feature an auto-start system that is simple and safe to use. When you turn on the grill, the auger begins to feed pellets into the firepot while the draft induction fan feeds air into it. The igniter rod is activated and glows red hot for the first four minutes to ignite the pellets in the firepot. The 8-pound capacity hopper provides plenty of on-the-go grilling time.
Traeger Ranger FAQ
Can you smoke on the Traeger Ranger?
The Ranger can hold temperatures in the low-and-slow range. The only limitation is its size - the cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, so larger items may be a bit too large to fit.
Does the Traeger Ranger need electricity?
The Ranger requires a standard 110 volt outlet.
How much can you fit on a Traeger Ranger?
The cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, which does limit capacity. BBQGuys estimates you can grill 6 burgers at one time.
Can you smoke a brisket on a Traeger Ranger?
Absolutely! The only limitation is size, so you may have a challenge trying to fit a very large brisket in the Ranger. We've seen briskets up to 20 inches in length and 12 inches in width, so you'll probably want to go with a medium-sized brisket. Trimming your brisket may also help it fit.
Can the Traeger Ranger get wet?
It can, but note that if the lid gets wet that will likely cause the internal temperature to drop, which can affect your cook time. We recommend keeping it under cover when not in use.
How big is the Traeger Ranger?
The Ranger is 21 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 13 inches high. It weighs in at a whopping 60 lbs.

For a compact grill it works great. It heats up quickly and does good at holding the set point temperature. I cooked a brisket in cold weather for my first cook and it went well.

Bought it to travel, but it also works great at home.
My son has used it while on his cross country trip. He said it's amazing and very convenient.
my dad finally came back after i bought this, only to let me know i wasted my money.

Nice for the first bit, but not durable given the price. Has been nice for tailgates and 10-lb pork shoulders. The cast iron griddle was good for breakfast and shaved rib. Great flavor with the meat church pellets. Now to the bad part…When cooking chicken at 450 less than 10 uses in, the paint on the lid bubbled inside and outside. Grill was not hot enough to burn the chicken but somehow hot enough to bubble and peel the paint.

Can't hold temperature, doesn't get below 245, very disappointed...
I've had mine now for about a year and like any grill there are flaws, most all of the revies are true it's a difficult grill to use, but after using it for a year it can't be beat (my opinion) you do have to adjust the temp but that's really all I've done brisket, burgers, and flank steak, just take the time to learn its weaknesses and you will have it beat and making great meals your family will enjoy.
Wandered into the Traeger display at the State Fair of Texas, where I was greeted by the nice folks from Treager. I explained that with a Weber grill and offset stick smokers I didn't need a pellet grill but just wanted to have a look at the rubs and sauces on display. So we talked about other shared interests and just as we were ready to leave I noticed the Ranger on a side table. Zack explained that it was portable, which meant I could use it at home and at the hunting cabin and that it could even be run with a 12 volt inverter, off grid. Well, this was a game changer! My wife and I left and talked about the Ranger over a corny dog and beer and concluded that the Ranger would be ideal for cooking on our covered porch on the nights that the weather was not so good and the convenience of not having to build a fire to cook a meal. Needless to say we went back. The Ranger was delivered a few days later and we cooked venison fajitas on it that night. The ease of getting it fired up and the set and forget temperature control is the easy button for outdoor cooking. Because we use our Traeger in two locations, a suitable cart was needed at the cabin, so I built the Ranger it's own dedicated workstation. Which was christened this last weekend with chicken wings. Could not be happier with the product and service from Traeger and the Ranger fits perfectly in my outdoor cooking arsenal!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
