The Go-Anywhere Traeger Ranger Pellet Grill | TFT18KLD
Take the convenience and rich flavor of a wood burning pellet grill anywhere with the Ranger portable pellet grill by Traeger. The Ranger offers even more control over grilling temperatures thanks to the Digital Arc Controller and 36,000 BTU output, allowing you to set grill temperatures in 5-degree increments.
Advance Grilling Logic ensures precise temperature performance, while the included meat probe and built-in cook timer allow you check temps and know when to check on food. A built-in Keep Warm Mode ensures foods are hot and ready when you are.
Ranger: Perfect for On-the-Go Grilling and Smoking
This portable pellet grill is perfect for camping, tailgating, picnics, and boating. This little grill runs off a standard 110-volt outlet. The 184 square inch porcelain coated grilling surface produces excellent sear marks and easily cleans up. The natural airflow inside of the grill allows for convection cooking, so you can bake pizza right on your grill and cook meat at lower temperatures without any flipping. Enjoy breakfast on the go and sear steaks to perfection using the included cast iron griddle. Rubber feet and latches on the hood keep your grill secure during transportation.
Easy to Start
Traeger grills feature an auto-start system that is simple and safe to use. When you turn on the grill, the auger begins to feed pellets into the firepot while the draft induction fan feeds air into it. The igniter rod is activated and glows red hot for the first four minutes to ignite the pellets in the firepot. The 8-pound capacity hopper provides plenty of on-the-go grilling time.
Traeger Ranger FAQ
Can you smoke on the Traeger Ranger?
The Ranger can hold temperatures in the low-and-slow range. The only limitation is its size - the cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, so larger items may be a bit too large to fit.
Does the Traeger Ranger need electricity?
The Ranger requires a standard 110 volt outlet.
How much can you fit on a Traeger Ranger?
The cooking grid is 15 x 12 inches, which does limit capacity. BBQGuys estimates you can grill 6 burgers at one time.
Can you smoke a brisket on a Traeger Ranger?
Absolutely! The only limitation is size, so you may have a challenge trying to fit a very large brisket in the Ranger. We've seen briskets up to 20 inches in length and 12 inches in width, so you'll probably want to go with a medium-sized brisket. Trimming your brisket may also help it fit.
Can the Traeger Ranger get wet?
It can, but note that if the lid gets wet that will likely cause the internal temperature to drop, which can affect your cook time. We recommend keeping it under cover when not in use.
How big is the Traeger Ranger?
The Ranger is 21 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 13 inches high. It weighs in at a whopping 60 lbs.

This is to help those who experience fluctuations in temperature of any pellet grill. 1. Wind is the enemy. Try to place the pellet grill in a location with the least amount of wind. 2. Outside temperature. If it is freezing cold or blisterring hot outside, this will effect the temperature. I found if I used pellet grills in the shade or under cover of some sort, this helped. 3. This is in regards to this particular model. Mostly the thing that may be effecting the temperature stability is the fact that this particular model has not much if any sort of insulating factor. This is just an inexpensive way for those that do not have much space or are on the go, can have some pellet grilled food. For what it is meant for, I think it will suffice just fine for its design. I have owned Traegers, Camp Chefs, Mac's, and a few other pellet grills. All of the things I mentioned effect them all. What I come to think, is the ultimate setup is to have a canvas tent to use the pellet grill inside of, like one would do when cooking a whole pig or lamb on a full size rotisserie grill in a tent.

Perfect size for tailgating and camping. Fits plenty of meat...don't let the size fool you. Easily fits two full sized chickens or tri-tips. I was able to fit a 8 lb pork butt. Also was able to smoke an 11 lb ham. I keep it in the bed of my truck, ready to roll!

This is my second Ranger. First one was returned for faulty wiring and temp probe did not work. Second one will probably go back as well, temp probe does not work on this one either. I wish I bought the Scout with the Pro Controller. I own a Pro 34 and love it for cooking larger quantities of food. I was hoping for the same quality with the Ranger grill, but no luck. The Ranger is a great size for smaller quantities of food and quick use, but at this price point, I cannot recommend the grill with the digital arc controller.

Been running the Ranger for about a year now. Very happy with it. Have used it while it was sunny and hot as well as dark and windy. Cooks very consistent, and is very easy. Wish it wad not so heavy, but it is what it is.

Whether I'm cooking at home for my family and friends, or cooking sanctioned steak competitions, the Ranger is my ace in the hole. Perfect temperature control, perfect searing, the Ranger makes it so easy that even my children make perfect steak on it.

Worked fine in the summer and early fall, but is unusable in late fall and winter months.
I have a Larger Traeger But it's difficult for me to get around now that I have back issues are you able to cook an entire Brisket on the Ranger just like the larger Models?

Just over a year of Traegering, my oven has become a storage bin complete with cob webs. Having been bitten by a Lone Star Tick 5 years ago I could no longer have dairy or any mammalian meat. As a long time griller eating became a boring chore, until I put a Traeger on my porch. I cold smoke turkey bacon, cook all manner of seafood and poultry and food is fun again. I gave samples of turkey bacon instead of Christmas Cookies, I have too many loyal fans and the traegering population keeps growing. I have the 22 inch model and will be adding the Ranger soon for traveling. Way too much fun and the best food ever.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
