Customer Reviews
I bought this about 3 years ago. We're full time RV rs and want to grill 2+ times a week. Has always taken a lot of "monitoring". It is not easy to use - not reliable. It fouls ( errors) out often. Pellet feeder/hopper does not empty correctly so it takes close monitoring. When it works it's great. Just not reliable! I'm sorry I bought it and am finally replacing it.
Already own a pro series for home and it works great so I bought a portable for the RV. Works ok at higher temps above 300* but lower it constantly varies by as much as 200 degrees. Worked with support people where they sent a new controller then a new auger motor. That helped for a short time but it's back to the same thing. Changing pellets thinking they might be bad didn't make a difference. Problem is that it keeps feeding pellets till it it's at the desired temp then the temp keeps rising until they burn off then the temp drops and keeps dropping as the new pellets smolder away smoking up the RV neighbourhood. Finally they start on fire but the temp is 50 or 75 degrees below desired temp and the auger is still feeding away so the temps then rise to well over 100 degrees over until they burn out repeating the process. It was smoking so bad one time a maintenance guy was searching around for a fire reported by one of the other residents.

This has been the best grill I've owned and the perfect size for our small family.

Purchased a scout at Ganders Outdoor Dickson City Pa. It was on sale plus an additional %10 off for being a member. Could not pass up this deal. Best Grill purchase I made. I have not used my gas grill since. Ribs, lamb chops, pork loin, hambugers, salmon. shrimp. never tasted so good. Also purchased mesquite, alder, hickory, cherry, pecan pellets. Mix, blend. No matter. All good. Get one
My parents bought me this grill in March. After my initial grill was returned due to the drip tray manufacturing defect, I received a second grill which has performed much better. Due to the small size of the grill, you will see some temperature variation, but it's not overcooking your food. Generally I will see swings of about 20-30 degrees each way, so like if I have it at 250, it will range from 220-280 ish. There is less variation if I have a larger piece of meat on the grill. The drip tray gets hot, so drip liners or aluminum foil help keep the drippings from burning before it gets to the drip bucket. If cooking on high, be sure to move it down to smoke for about 10 mins before starting shutdown cycle to avoid any auger backburn. Because it's so small, I wouldn't recommend leaving it to smoke and leaving the house, but check on it every once in a while to make sure it's not too hot, and don't overload the grate, because that's how grease fires happen. It's a great grill if you don't try to treat it like a huge charcoal grill and overload the space. I find it works great for smoking and for grilling. We are huge fans.

This was a Christmas present for my husband who loves to BBQ. This Traeger is a huge step up from what we are used to grilling on. I originally bought it for our camp trailer but noticed we loved the flavor of the food so much that we use it at home too! It's small and versatile, and easy set up and usage. You can't go wrong with this baby. It's nice to have the temperature thermometer also for those perfectly cooked tri tips!! It will hold a couple of tri tips and 4 decent sized steaks. Definitely going to shop for a larger, possibly wifi controlled Traeger!! You can't go wrong with these and with our local hardware store that carries different flavored wood pellets...pretty awesome!

The Pasadena review does not own a scout. He owns the older model that only had 3 settings. The Scout has multiple settings in 25 degree increments and it works every bit as good as my large pellet grill and gets hotter quicker.
I'm glad I got it best way to cook hands down leaves great flavor in all meats
Purchased a lil Tex a few months back for home use. I liked it so much I purchased another scout to leave in my work truck to use daily while on the go. Thanks Traeger !

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
