Found out the hard way on this one ruining a snake river farms beef rib. Temp does not maintain and it shot up to over 400 and caught on fire mid cook. Lost the entire meal. I should have read these reviews before I bought this one. Haven't used this unit since.

Dude! This grill is hands down the best thing I've ever grilled on. Meats come out perfectly juicy and tender, and that smoke game is incredible. I love the fact you can take it anywhere. My only complaint is the temperature doesn't go to where you set it, it's wayyyyyy to high. I have to babysit and play with the tempature constantly, making the grilling not so fun. This actually the second one, my dad purchased one and had a temperature malfunction, he ended up giving me the second one for my birthday just recently and it's doing what the previous did.

Even when adjusted, I cannot get the Scout to maintain a constant temperature. The settings run too high and needs to be babysat so food will not burn. I have the best luck on the smoke setting. I love my home grill, though.

Looked a several places and found the Ranger cheaper here. It came in an expeditious manner and works as promised. We love it!

Out of the box there were temp issues, still cooked fine. Then,at about the 3rd use it would not get above 275 and just smoked like crazy, tried again the next day and same thing.

I follow instructions to a T when this was fresh out of the box. It won't hold a desired temperature and usually runs away into the way too hot side. Even when resetting as per instructed, several times.

The temperature won't stay stable. Can't do 225 degree slow and low smoke, because the temperature won't come down. A known factory defect. Temperature will also exceed over 450° Thank goodness the company will replace a new controller, but I still have to either do it myself or take it into the traeger dealership to have them install it for me.

I was super excited at first! Unfortunately this smoker does not work properly. With the temp set to 180, 225, or 250 and it climbs to well over 300. Useless for smoking.

I have the treager tailgater best grill ever to this day. I bought the Scout also it was good for about 3 months and now it runs always hot by 100° no matter what the P setting is at. It's impossible to smoke now the minimum temperature is 280° no matter what the ambient temperature is outside I also had a fire pot fire issue. Obviously this grill has issues according to the other reviews posted don't buy the smallest ones.

I have 4 Traeger's including a PTG that I only use when in our RV. I cannot control the temperature and have actually had a fire in the fire pot. I have never had these problems with my other 3 Traeger's. I must say support has been very helpful but after three calls I am ready to give up on this Traeger. I have replaced the controller, still cannot control the temperature, up to over 500 degrees, replaced the RTD on second call, still no success in controlling the temperature and last was a new auger, again unable to control the temperature. As mentioned, have not had these problems with my other 3, all which I have used much more than this PTG

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
