Customer Reviews
We were die-hard charcoal grillers but wanted something else to take camping with us. Its astounding how tender and juicy everything is-burgers, chicken, pork-chops, and steaks are all fabulous. Attempted our first smoked brisket this week and the result was incredible-so tender and flavorful. Also impressed with the small amount of pellets used-overwhelmingly cheaper than charcoal. Grill cleaner works extremely well and the no-stick grate washes easily. Highly recommend this unit for camping, tailgating and a small family.

I have been using my scout for over a year I'm not much of a cook you don't have to be the scout cooks it perfectly every single time. Maintain this smoker like you do your kitchen clean it after each use
I got this baby up to 523 degrees Fahrenheit. Dropped it down to 425, and threw on a 2 1/2" thick ribeye. I'm a Traeger veteran, so I know how these machines work best. Once I was pleased with the progress in the rib-eye, I threw on the kids and wife's New York's. Completed them both at the same time. It was a wonderful dinner. Thanks Traeger.

I was frustrated when I saw my temp go to 300 on smoke, after a call with customer service (and a Busch Light)… they had me turn it off, turn it on and leave the lid open for 15 minutes. After that my temp was great. Those of use used to the Elite or other newer products get a little spoiled… it's a learning curve I'm glad I got over.
Great idea, but the thing just isn't what my other Traeger delivers. Put it on smoke and quickly gets up to 360. Set the P settings and followed initial setup instructions exactly.
All the bad reviews are accurate. Problems out of the box and finding a service dealer has been a pain. Now I can't use my brand new grill for weeks.
I bought this as Christmas present for my parents. I have enjoyed several our Traeger grills and believed this would be perfect for them. Wrong. I helped the get it set up went through all the pre-use steps in the manual. First time we cooked on it the temp shot up so high it errored out. We called customer service the last was very nice helped us get it going and we followed the instructions to a tee. Start temp low, don't open the lid very much made sure we had not messed with the p setting etc. temp still was all over the board. This week my father went to cook 2 racks of ribs. Total disaster. The temp never stabilized, the cook temp was set at 180 and it continued to fluctuate between 200 and 350 the whole time he wasn't opening the lid all the time and the outside temp was a modest 85 degrees. I bought this so they could have something to enjoy and not have to babysit. Absolute total waste of my money. I really don't know why this is continuing to be sold. Traeger has great products….THIS IS NOT ONE!!!!
I would advise no one purchase this product. The temperature swing issues are real and so bad it makes the product unusable. I can't speak for the other treager products but this one is nothing but frustrating. Every temperature swing issue listed in any reviews for this is 100% correct and not a user error. It is not about following the start up instructions it is about a faulty design. Go purchase another product, this one is not for you.

Got this as a gift a few months ago. Initial burn worked just fine, shut down cycle etc. went to do the first cook, on some pork ribs, had to set to 180, came outside a few minutes later to see the temp over 400° eventually it went into the high temp mode. Wrote it off to it being windy. Few weeks later, fresh pellets, clean fire pot. Started it up, and same exact thing happened, had it set to 225° watched the temp go over 400° then down to 180° then back up to 350° and down. Called customer service, followed their advice, shut down cycle, then start again etc. nothing worked. Was told they were going to ship a new controller. Got an email an hour after getting off the phone that the grill isn't registered yet. Emailed them back with the SN since they were closed. Never heard anything else from them after a week. Haven't gotten around to calling again. Not pleased. This is my second Traeger. If customer service can't figure it out, it will be my last. Also, I have a video of the temp soaring and lowering, but unfortunately I can't upload it.

I use this around the house and take it to the river and plug it into the 12v port on my 4runner. At first I hated it because I couldn't get the temp to stay in the desired ranges and it had terrible problems with grease fires. However I refused to give up on it and I found out that it was a combination of old pellets (pit boss works fantastic) no luck with traeger pellets, food overhanging the drip pan on the grill and ash collecting in the fire box. Now that I learned how to get it going I love it.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
