Constantly having issues with temperature sensor and circuit board. Constant errors while trying to do any type of cooking on it.
I'm into my 5 mont. Chicken, Ribs, Pulled pork, Beef, different kinds I live at 5200 ft. elavation. November is cool to cold. Maintaining 275 all night is difficult. So I've made a insulation blanket, for the top, sides and back. Worked great for a 12hr Pulled pork. Pit Boss need to address cold weather cooks.
2nd pit boss i have the savannah and just added the copperhead
I've had this now for a few years. Have only pulled it out occasionally (probably not more than a dozen smokes). The start up process is incredibly frustrating having to babysit it every ten minutes to ensure it doesn't quite before getting to 100° then gives me the ERL code. If I prime it myself while babysitting I can get it to 130. It can't keep consistent temps. Program temps below 200, it stays lower than programmed temp. At 200 it at least puts up a decent fight at keeping temp, but at least 5-10 degrees higher than programmed temp. Incapable of doing snack stick type foods, they become leather. Currently babysitting hour 9 of 25lbs of venison summer sausage now attempting 175°.
I have the first version of the Copperhead smoker and the second version has taken this already great smoker to the next level. The new LCD and new location in my opinion has fixed glitchy control panel.
Absolutely do not buy this product! This is a review based upon 3 years of attempted use. This smoker never worked correctly a single time. From the beginning you will get nothing but errors. After the first 10 or so attempts I contacted apotboss and they sent me a new control board. You will be so lucky to spend a significant amount of time to install this yourself. This will solve nothing! I attempted to use an estimated 50 times over the next 3 years and experienced nothing but failures. Best case you will hope it runs long enough to get a little smoke flavor before failure and then finish in your oven but you'll rarely get it to run that long. This product simply will not work. Ever. Invest your money in a more reputable brand.

Questions & Answers
Hey Laila! This particular smoker was designed with portability in mind. The legs act as a support for the control panel and provide space underneath the smoker for the grease trap. We recommend following the manufacturer's assembly instructions.
Asked by Laila | Answered by JamesHi Mike, thanks for asking. The Low Temperature settings range from 150 to 250 °F (65-122°C). You can also check out more info on Low, Medium, and High settings on page 13 of the Assembly & Operations Instructions linked under the Manufacturer's Downloads section.
Asked by Mike | Answered by HunterHi Tony! Depending on the size of the ribs, it should hold around 12 racks, two per shelf. Hope this helps!
Asked by Tony | Answered by TiffanyHi Josh, according to the manual this smoker can be used to smoke cheeses. The minimum temperature this smoker can be set to is 150 degrees.
Asked by Josh | Answered by RosaHi, San. You can control the amount of smokey flavor your food gets. There's some tips on getting the best smoke flavor, depending on how and what you're smoking, in the owner's manual: https://cdn.shocho.co/sc-specsheets/pbv7p1_manual_77700.pdf

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
