Very fast delivery , just what I order, This fixed my temp control, no problem at all easy to install just set on and put new gasket in if needed, make cooking a lot easier if your having temp problems, a lot easier to control lower temp adjustments, Tower does not fall from one side or other and have no problem keeping your temp right. Very well sasitified, with this product would recommend this Product to all my cooking friends for their Kamado Joe Classic.

I ordered this here and got it quite quickly, was anxious to try it out as opposed to the "Daisey Wheel" that came with my classic. Unfortunately, I slid the original off and put this on but it was too large to fit properly, very loose on my JKC, I was afraid it wouldn't seal correctly and that it would fall off if I opened the top. KUDOS to the BBQ Guys though who promptly gave me a refund. I so wish it would have worked!

I am slowly having to upgrade my original Classic Joe. The Kontrol Tower Top Vent was a needed and very functional upgrade to make. Fits perfectly. Highly recommend.

I have this vent on a Kamado Joe Classic that I have had for about 3 months. Maybe used it 5-6 times, mostly long slow cooks. It is a pain to keep it from sticking shut on both the fine adjustment and the slide open part. I have tried a number of things like washing it, exercising it vigorously when hot etc, but looks like it is just going to be an annoyance no matter what. After it gets hot, it will usually break free, but I really need it to swing wide open to get the grill started. If you pull the whole thing off to clean it etc. then it gets loose and will never be able to adjust it.

Like others, I have the same issue. I heard somewhere that the aluminum is power coated. Paint peeling should not happen if powder coating took place. Anyway, I am not impressed by flash, only function. As to the function, I have noted that the issue that I have is that the slide can stick. Not talking about the fine adjustment portion, but the open it up wide open part. Apparently smoke, water, and creosote can work itself between the parts causing it to stick. Not that huge of a problem since the top can be completely removed, and later the whole thing cleaned. I might opt for the old cast iron vent later on. Just bought my KJ and loving it. So far cooked several pizzas, Boston butt, chicken thighs, and a whole packers brisket all to perfection. I am just not completely impressed with this top.

I recently bought air vent to replace one from my Kamado Joe that I bought about 2 years ago. My old one was made out of cast iron, and it had a couple of rust spots on it. I also disliked how the vent shifted when I opened the lid. This new one is much better because it doesn't move, no matter what position you have it in. I also feel good about the cast aluminum design, and I don't think rust will be an issue.

Waited 6 weeks to receive. BBQ Guys did a great job communicating the delays. Once I received it was constructed well and looked great. Installation is simple, take off the old and put on the new. Fit was loose and I contacted Kamari Joe the same day I received. KJ promptly replied and sent out additional gasket to tighten up the fit. Have not received gasket yet but I feel it will fix the problem once I do.

Just twist and pull off. If you've never had it off, and it sounds as if that's true it could need some prying if it is stuck. At least that's how mine operates. Also, likely time to replace your felt grill gasket if you never have.
Asked by John | Answered by cabernethoundHi John. It may help to heat up the grill before trying to remove the vent, but be extremely careful as it will be hot to the touch. Try to twist and pull the vent. I would not recommend using any tools as there is the chance to damage the ceramic of the grill if you aren't careful.
Asked by John | Answered by Joey, BBQGuys ExpertHI Ted. What many Kamado Joe users recommend is to wash it in a degreaser bath or use Powdered Brewers Wash periodically. The problem appears to be grease buildup, so regular cleaning appears to be the best current solution.

Asked by Michael | Answered by LukeHi Mitch. The Kontrol Tower does not require adhesive. Underneath it should be a strip of fiberglass mesh gasket. The Kontrol Tower slips over the gasket material and fits snugly. The Kontrol Tower does not come with this gasket material, but the grill does, so check to see if there is any extra before purchasing more.
