After 2 uses the door molding ripped away and inserts bent. The darn tray racks pop off while sliding trays in and out. Hard to pop back in when unit is hot. Poor design. They do not stay put, gonna have to drill them in. The doors dont really align and close without assistance. Its worth 300 tops.

Damaged on arrival. Hole through top.

Hole through top of smoker from the inside out. This unit was thrown so hard that the part inside blew a hole through the top. Dents in door. Go buy local so you can inspect you rpurchase. It is not worth the hassle of returning a damaged product.

When the smoker arrived, there were no latches on the doors. I question quality control when the shelves and the parts for the stand are shipped inside the smoker. The doors were installed on the unit, but no one noticed that latches were not installed to keep the doors shut. Broil King did ship latches out for me to install. As with many other reviews saying about not being able to get a low temperature for smoking, my smoker is no different. It will not go below 325deg at the lowest setting. I called Broil King customer service twice and was told that the smoker is designed to only go down to 300deg on its lowest setting, even though the manual that comes with the smoker states on page 8 "For best results try to maintain a temperature of 200deg to 300deg" which this smoker is not capable of doing. I emailed Broil King several times trying to get recommendations on how get a lower temp and did not get a single response. Now I am stuck with a so-called smoker that is useless for smoking meats. I do not recommend buying and wasting money on this smoker; look for a different brand.

I would definitely buy this vertical NG smoker again

We really like this smoker. Easy to set-up and easy to use. I only wish the bottom vents were adjustables; however, I assume they are not because I have the natural gas unit. Low maintenance and it burns about 1 cup of wood per hour and the water needs filling after about 2 hours. Temperature has been relaticely easy to control. Cheers!

From the start this smoker could not keep temperature below 325 deg F, the moment the burner is ignited in just 20 Minutes, after it keeps gradually climbing and the only way to lower the inside temp is to either open the unit door or just turn it of

I've had this smoker since 2015 and love it! It was easy to assemble and operate. It makes smoking easy, and does an excellent job with anything we've tried. And I've had a lot of fun trying different recipes. Great way to spend a summer day…low and slow!

Ok, so after using this smoker for a little over a year now, I feel I can give an helpful review. Like's Last week it was below zero out side and we were eating smoked ribs, perfectly cooked. Yea for double wall Make in the USA, NICE!!!! heats up fast enough, and can be turned down, low enough, YEA water tray lasts for the whole cook does not get the deck hot at all The fold out shelf is soo useful, I did not think it would be, but I was wrong possible improvements a temp control and or timer would be really nice My family has all had food from this smoker, and all agree it is as good as the commercial smoker I had before. I would and have recomended this smoker to all my friends and family No fuss no muss, just smoking year round. Wind, extreme cold, rain, snow, no issue, no problem. There is something special about bbq when it is snowing and cold. Keep up the good work Mr. and Ms. Broil King the bbq guys did fast shipping, it got dented, and the bbq guys were willing to work with me, but it is just cosmetic and I have not been sorry at all about the purchase or the dent,

How low can the temperature be set. I currently have a propane smoker that I had to add a second gas valve in order to get the flame low enough to suit my smoking taste. I prefer to smoke as "cold" as I can.

Hello. The answer to this seems to be that results vary. Many people have reported issues maintaining temperatures at or below 200 degrees, while others say that they are able to reach these temps easily enough. Maintaining the temperature of a smoker depends on many factors, so the results may differ from day to day. Also, there is no advertised temperature range given by Broil King, so unfortunately there is no simple answer.

Hi Tony! Yes, you can use chucks in the vertical smoker as long as they are put in the smoker box or a tray. Just use the chucks the same way you would use the chips.

Hi JR. The smoker vents do play a role in maintaining proper temperature, as does the environment the smoker is in. It is not recommended to use the smoker in windy conditions. As with all grills and smokers, there is usually a learning curve associated with them and we recommend experimenting to dial in the perfect setting for your food. Hope this helps!

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight.
