Weber 7203 iGrill 2 Wireless Bluetooth Grill Thermometer With 2 Pro-Meat Probes

Owned for 15-20 cooks now and it's perfect for reading internal and ambient (@ the grill) temps. My first iGrill was faulty and replaced by manufacturers at no cost to me as it would drop connection regardless of distance even after reset process. The new one works perfectly (as it should) & I would recommend it to anyone. The only improvements I would suggest are 1. the ability to put a variable high/low range select on all preset cooks (eg. brisket 195F-208F) and 2. model upgrade that connects to Wifi & or Bluetooth for those moments when you need to run off to the supermarket. Smoke on!!!

Figured it would be created to withstand heat (low heat on my smoker) but the magnet melted on my first use. Pretty disappointed.

I like the idea of the Igrill 2, unfortunately I can't go more than 35 ft from the transmitter before I lose connection. I fail to see the point of this device if I have to be that close to the grill, I may as well physically check it if that's the case. I thought I was upgrading from my maverick, but I guess I was wrong. Save yourself the money, unless you want to stand beside the grill while checking the temp on your phone.

I have used this for about a year now and I cook long slow cooks quite often. A couple quick thoughts...Bluetooth range is not more than about 8-10 feet for me. I use an iPad with the app on it. I use 2 probes and an ambient one. I believe the temperatures are really accurate and I love the graphs and all the features it has. However, I do lose Bluetooth connectivity at least 2 times in an 8+ hr cook. It's frustrating to have to shut the app down, re start and reconnect. Although I do like most of the features, finding a way to increase the range on Bluetooth and loss of connection is a must on the next model

I received this unit as a gift from my son. We are both serious about our meat. I have only used it once, but it worked as expected. I emailed 12 different people the temperature graph as the meats cooked. Many people talk about connection problems, but I never had any. I do believe in staying nearby and checking my meat periodically. This tool should not be used as a replacement for eyes! I know the times on my grill to complete certain cooks, and it was nice to confirm that the thermometer worked as advertised. It was great for that 8 hour smoke; I could keep my guests appraised of the progress on the meat that was smoking as the day went on. The brisket I cooked was perfect. I look forward to grilling steaks as I have requests for everything from blue rare to well done. I plan on picking up the other two temperature probes today at my local BBQ shop. My phone stayed within 20' of the base the whole time. I may have lost blue tooth at some point and then regained it? I may try taking my phone far away from the base and returning to see what happens. I would like to see the ability to interact with the graph more from the app. Being able to name each graph/probe would be very useful. (eg. Lisa's steak)

bought this 2 years ago and used less than 10 times, now when it was working it worked great, then I go to use for the first time this year and it won't power up after reset and battery change. really disappointed.

This is the almost the perfect wireless smart thermometer. It does everything great monitoring meat temperature inside the grill. The additional ambient temperature probe is a must have accessory. I use it every time. Connectivity is long range, but could be updated. This is a must have for grilling perfect temperature meat every time. To Weber: My only complaint is with the temperature alarm when using the ambient sensor. The alarm goes off when you go above or below range, which means every time you lift the lid, the alarm goes off, beeping incessantly. There has to be something you can do about that, Weber! Also, if I go a little hot, it keep going off over and over again. I get it, once is enough. As you know, it takes time to cool down a kettle, especially when smoking. While it does everything well, the next upgrade of the iGrill should include two things: One, Bluetooth should be updated with Wi-Fi connectivity. During a 12 hour smoke, it would be great if I didn't have to be right near the grill to monitor it. All appliances are going Wi-Fi now, lead the pack. Second, waterproofing. This is an outdoor product, right? I grill in the rain, fog, even in snow once. I'm not the only one who thinks that waterproofing was a MAJOR oversight by the original company, probably to hit a price point. Weber can do it. With these two additions, the iGrill could be not only best in class, but the perfect grilling thermometer.

Received as a gift, was excited to use it. Set up the app, connected the probes and put the meat in the smoker. All looked good, thought this was gonna be pretty cool. While the meat cooked I proceeded to do some yard work and errands around the house - no worries, the iGrill will notify me when the meat is getting done, right? Well, like so many other reviewers have stated, the bluetooth disconnects with absolutely no warning and you're left with temperature readings that never change. After a while I finally caught on, only to find the meat overcooked. What's the use of a remote probe if I have to stay nearby and keeping worrying my connection. Really disappointed this item fails badly at the one thing it's supposed to do for you. At the very LEAST the app could warn you the connection was lost so be aware that readings may be inaccurate.

It didn't take long to determine this is a winner. Bluetooth connectivity eliminates the need to run outside to check temps...in the rain. The Bluetooth signal strength is just strong enough to reach my iPhone when in my frame house, a distance of about 20 feet. Others may have an issue if their home is brick, or they are further away from the base unit. I will try playing around with where I locate the base to see if I can get the signal to reach further. We'll see how it holds up over the long haul, including battery life, weather resistance, accuracy and so on. Thus far, I am happy I picked it up.
