As a mechanical engineer, I found it quite difficult to install as the access to the retaining cotter pin is very tight and must be done from underneath while the burner top is installed on its stand. The grill has a welded in place horizontal bar that extends too far on either end to accommodate the searing burner's frame so one has to do some major disassembly work to get the burner to sit flat. The burner comes with a small bolt and nut that apparently is to be used to secure it in place. Once again the lack of reasonable access post manufacturing, makes it almost impossible to properly secure this tiny bolt and nut leaving the burner to be unsafely just sitting in place as it could easily slide loose as the grill is pushed around on its cart base.

The burner does work if lit with a lighter but it won't light with the knob. Not sure if there is a design flaw or if I have a defective unit. Working directly with Summerset to resolve.

I am returning this burner as the installation is way too difficult, even the professionals who installed my grill said they would need to take out the grill and disassemble in order to install the Infrared burner. The video makes it look so easy removing 2 screws from the existing burner and use those screws to install the Infrared. But now the grill must have been updated because there are no screws, the is a solid pin on the existing burner and below a cotter pin holds the burners in place and is impossible to get to. My grill is the Summerset 32" Sizzler Pro Built In, I now dread the day I need to replace a burner and hope they last forever. So if you want your grill to have an Infrared burner get it that way from the factory, buying after and trying to install yourself is not worth it.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
