I use my grill 4-5 times a week , and the fins do not stand up to the use. They have a tendency to let the charcoal bits get under them and push them up into the charcoal grate , so I welded a bolt on the center shaft installed a 4 inch washer with a nut. This allows me to keep a little tension on the fins to hold them down. Thanks Phil

The cleaning system took a bit to attach, but that was because the original system wing nut was immovable, I had to drill it out. Once that was done, the new one installed easily. The original is about 35 - 40 years old and the blades were shot - one was completely sheared off. The new system seems to be heavier gauge steel and looks and feels like I'll get another 30 years out of the cooker. BTW: I use my Weber kettle year round, the coldest weather I've used it in is just about -40F, but that was only a couple times over the years. Between -0F and -20F is more common. Takes a little more charcoal and a little longer to cook at those temps, but the meat still comes out perfect every time.

So delighted to find this replacement part. Would give it 5 stars, except for the misleading instructions. The instructions made it look like removal of the old one would be easy, but I needed to replace it because it was rusted out and so it was a lot more work than just inserting a screwdriver and turning the handle the way the picture shows. More information for real-world scenarios when replacement is needed would have been nice.

Old one wore out so needed to replace. directions are straight forward but I ended up cutting old handle off. Due to metal fatigue or other the handle would not rotate. Not a big deal!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
