We had the Elite E6000 30 in professionally installed during our remodel in 2015 because is it listed as commercial grade. We have had so many problems, it leaks grease incessantly, it started turning off intermittently about a year ago, now, ot no longer works. We clean avidly because we cook frequently. Plus, it sprays grease out the vent. Beautiful sleek product, poor quality.

I got the E6430SS to replace the stock microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. Bottom line, it is superior to a microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. It does work at venting out smoke and cooking smells efficiently. That said, there are two annoyances I have with it, which makes me want to replace this unit even though it's only 3 years old: - Oil routinely dribbles out of the grease tray onto my range, or down the side of my cabinets. There's constantly droplets of oil hanging off the bottom of the hood that I have to wipe off with paper towels each week. - It's loud, loud, loud, even at the lowest speed. At least it's loud and effective at venting, unlike a microwave hood combo, but I feel like other manufacturers are able to strike a better balance. The newer GE Profile / Cafe series 600cfm hoods are much quieter at normal speeds and seem to work just as well at venting, based on one I used at my brother's place (his is model #UVW93042PSS). With that one, at the lowest speed it's basically whisper quiet and you can carry on a conversation, unlike this Broan.

It arrived with next to no packaging and without a protective plastic film. It also is missing the removable grease drip rail. Other than these issues, it runs as expected and promised.

I bought this a few months ago and thought it was a lot quieter than it really is. I can't hear myself think with this thing on. Also, it did not come with lights and trying to find exactly which one to buy has been fruitless. Tried calling the 800 number and was on hold for so long my grey hairs were multiplying. So far, I am not impressed. I should have just gotten a microwave with a 450 cfm and might have been happier.

It's a nice looking hood but you literally cannot have a conversation if this thing is running. I don't even know why a company would put out a product this noisy.

The exhaust fan is durable, rugged, powerful and illuminates brilliantly once those "very difficult to install" halogen lamps are twisted into place. Those lamps are nearly impossible to install unless the hood is just unpacked from the shipping box. Trying to insert and then twist the lamps into place while being unable to look at where you're working is tough. Installation of the fan definitely requires two people too. It's quite heavy and one cannot mark the screw holes unless someone supports the fan. It would be great in you would supply a paper template to use for marking the holes. Nevertheless, it's a great fan and I would purchase it again.

Love the looks of this but feel like something is not right. My counters are greasy after cooking bacon - feel like it is not venting right - like it is blowing back into the kitchen.

This unit turns on full blast even if I'm just making an egg or heating up soup. It is difficult to enjoy cooking with other people because it is so loud that we can not have a conversation. Once it turns on automatically, you can not turn it off unless you turn off power at the breaker! When you're cooking alone, it blasts on and startles you, which isn't very safe when you're carrying knives, boiling water, etc. I gave it two stars because it works as a blower when it's needed. The low rating is because it's also blowing when it's not needed.

This is a first class product. Not a bunch of bells and whistles but a strong exhaust fan, bright task lighting and east to clean. Enough said. Highly recommended.

I have had this hood for several years & mostly love it. But, every 18 months or so, a knob breaks & needs to be replaced. Obvious design flaw and very disappointing in an otherwise great hood.
