The housing on the old igniter had basically disintegrated. It was 10+ years old so I replaced it with a new one.

Excellent factory replacement. Got this to replace original unit which was still working but 15+ years old and was replacing other parts and figured might as well replace this at same time since would be opening up the grill. Only negative was Weber did not ship within 48 hours as advertised. Had to contact Weber asking why my order had not shipped. Weber responded "oops" and shipped it. Took almost 3 weeks from day or order to arrive.

The item was delivered promptly and the instructions were great. The ignitor was easy to install, taking about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, like the original ignitor, it only works occasionally. So far, it has worked 2 times out of the 5 times I've used it.

This igniter generates its spark, so if the metal end piece does have residue on it, we suggest cleaning it with a dry cloth. We are glad to hear the ease of installation! Igniter was replaced and is working fine. Had to remove the tank and lean the grill to the side. Placed 3 orders for parts some were ordered accidentally because I thought I had the b-c version of the grill and instead had the A version of the genesis. The parts came fairly quick but can not get any one to talk to me about returning the items. Called left a message. Sent email and left phone number. They did reply to one of my emails and wanted the details which I did give them and now 3 weeks later have not heard from them. There is not customer service but sales you will be fine. The igniter works as advertised and parts were ordered for a grill that is 10 years old or more. The grill is fine on the outside. So now they have my money for parts that don't fit and can not get to them to get my money back.

We have an 18 year old grill with the original igniter kit which needed to be replaced. This was much easier to install than I expected. I am really fearful of working with the gas parts but instructions were very clear and now we have a safe working grill.

Easy to install. Follow instructions. Some changes from the original item. Take your time and be careful of the wires as to where they go. I'm no handyman but was able to do it easily. Patience!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
