BROUGHT A NEW GAS VALVE , AND PROPANE HOSE , GREAT WEB SIGHT
Washer breaks up after a couple months or less although only hand tightened to tank.
I bought this a couple of months ago because I got tired of buying 1 lb. propane cylinders for the 1980's camping grill I inherited from my father. The small cylinders are inconvenient and wasteful, since you cannot have them refilled, and I already keep a 20 lb. tank for my home-brewing burner. Anyway, the adapter fits perfectly, even though the grill I use it on isn't a Weber. It is very well made. The hose feels solid while remaining quite flexible; the brass fittings are heavy and nicely-machined, and everything threads together easily and tightly with no leaks. I can see using this adaptor for many years with no issues.
I am now on my third hose for my Q1000. The first hose, the plastic piece inside deteriorated over the winter, so it needed replacement. The last two I have had to replace because the squirells in my apartment complex keep eating through the hose. I love the grill and being able to hook up to a 20 lb cylinder, but I wish Weber would design a more rugged hose, perhaps braided stainless for this grill. I am currently using camping cylinders on it because I don't wish to spend anymore money on hoses that are going to get chewed threw.
Had the same issue with the plastic ring inside the green tank connection breaking leaving the hose unoperable. Its unfortunate that Weber makes a great barbecue and relies on such a poorly constructed hose. Sure puts a damper on your cooking at a campsite when your barbecue doesn't work.
I bought a cheaper knock-off hose and am sorry that I did. It blew apart in a couple of months. The hose is shorter that the original Weber (4ft) and much less flexible than the new Weber replacement that. Live and learn. I should have gone with the Weber from the start. OEM parts are always the way to go. I am happy to state that I am 45+ year Weber fan/user.
Leaks gas. Green end is to shallow to seal to regular propane tank, it was tightened as far as it could go but brass fitting did not seal to tank, about 1/8" short.
I too have had issues with this hose in that the inner plastic piece will break after a while leaving the hose useless. Perhaps Weber or their vendor for this hose could use better quality components such that this hose will last longer.
I love the grill but have had the same problem with the white piece of plastic coming apart inside the hose.
I purchased the Q2000 perhaps the time it was first available as it looked easy to use, not require much space and was easy to move with the cart. The 2nd year the flame was very small and was rather inadequate, taking too long for any enjoyable use. The hose, adapter and regulator were replaced as per the warranty replaced but there was no improvement. The staff where I bought it have been helpful in trying at the store, telling me it is working OK. I have followed the order of connection of the hose without improvement. The grill is stored in the garage in the winter and the tank is in an old metal barrel out side. I will not recommend this grill.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
