best bang for the buck
I bought a Summit grill in 2008. I gave it to my father in law in 2016 when I decided to build a custom grill island at a new home with a Wolf built in grill. Worst decision I ever made. My in laws are still grilling on that Weber and I've had to replace the guts of my Wolf twice in 5 years. It costs about $800 plus your time to rebuild a Wolf grill. Seriously considering ripping out all the granite and that Wolf and heading back to Weber.

Weber Grill Center Flagship
Its a great product that can grill anything you desire. A lot of bells and whistles. Assembly we t pretty smooth but definitely need two people. This grill is heavy. Would be nicer with some pull out drawers and a full cover.

Best bang for the buck!
I bought the Weber Summit Grill Center about 6 months ago and have used it several times per week since then and I'm very pleased with how well it cooks and how nice it looks. First of all, I bought it because it had all the features I was looking for - very large grill surface area, sear burner, rotisserie, over sized side burner, smoke box, plenty of storage, and leveling legs not castors. This is the only one that fit the bill. Price was very reasonable considering all the features. As for performance, the grill heats very evenly, almost zero flair ups, searing is done to perfection, the rotisserie did just fine with three chickens on the spear, and the over sized side burner is big enough to handle my largest stock pot for cooking Alaskan King Crab legs. I haven't tried the smoker or Wok yet but suspect they'll work just fine as well. I was originally planning on built in separates but found that route very expensive and not much flexibility down the road if something should need to be replaced or if I wanted to change the cooking options. The Weber Summit Grill Center has a built in look because of the leveling legs vs castors which allowed me to build a masonry (cement block, stucco and granite) surround around it. Looks great, and ended up at a fraction of the cost of going the full built in route. I live in Southern California with not much rain or humidity, so I don't think I'll develop any rust issues anytime soon as long as I keep it covered when not in use. However, I would say that Weber used the minimum gauge stainless everywhere they could and opted for powder coated steel framework and back panels vs stainless or aluminum. Moving it in place wasn't much of a problem with a plastic furniture slider disc under each leg and the ability to level it up to the granite surface height was a big plus for a true built in look. Overall I'm very pleased with the performance and features and satisfied with the build quality.

Buy it, you will love it !
Best grill for the money. Durable and long lasting. I had the Natural Gas version of this in a Summit 670 for many years. Moved it to California for 5 years-only left it because no natural gas where I moved. I bought the Grill Center version for the added storage space, and that I was totally familiar with the way the grill cooks. I would buy another Weber Summit if I ever need another grill!

Great Grill Center
I selected the summit grill center after reviewing several other brands. I wanted a grill that would last and had at least 6 burners and was off the ground to be able to clean around it, and also for the large stove, that comes in handy for my paella dish. It took a while for the assembly since I was on my own and I am very detail oriented. It did have an issue with one of the doors falling out but that was due to leveling, and got it corrected. The temperature is easily controllable. Used it for about 3 weeks and everything works fine, loved the lights at night showing what is grilled and that auto shutoff when closed, having the lights on the handle rather than inside is a very clear advantage. Cleaning and maintaining is like other grills but I noticed less effort. I like the cabinets for storage, having everything I need at hand and out of sight. Up to now the grill is great. Regarding the price, for the number of burners and quality, I found it to be comparable to others in the market, and for a little more full size cabinets with shelves and a large burner made my decision easier.

The Skinny:

  • Weber's top-of-the-line gas grill
  • Control knob lighting
  • Snap-Jet ignition for reliable startup
  • 9mm stainless steel rod cooking grids
  • Heavy duty stainless steel

Things We Love:

Weber Summit Gas Grills are Weber's top-of-the-line gas grill. The Summit's cooking system (burners, flavorizer bars, and beefy cooking grids) are all stainless steel. Along with the durable cooking system, there are several convenient features not found on other Weber gas grills that separate the Summit as the best.

The Weber Summit includes an attached Grill Out handle light that automatically illuminates your grill for easy nighttime cooking. I also really love the reliable start up using the Snap-Jet ignition since each different burner has its own flame throwing ignition. Another feature that takes convenience to the next level is the LED propane tank scale, which lets you know exactly where you stand on fuel at all times.

For minimizing flare-ups, the Summit's Stainless Steel Flavorizer bars can be found directly above the burners. They shield the burners by catching drippings and turning them to smoke, adding flavor to your food. Weber pioneered the Flavorizer bar in 1984, and since then they've proven to do their job extremely well, which is why they're still preventing flare-ups on all Weber gas grills today!

All Summit freestanding and grill center models include a 12,000 BTU side burner, which comes in handy if you need to warm up a side dish or a sauce. Additionally, when the side burner's lid is shut, it sits flush against its surface, which adds even more shelving space to the grill cart. The Summit 470 and 670 models include three additional features; a 10,600 BTU rear burner and rotisserie kit, a 10,600 BTU searing station for that extra high heat when you need it, and a 6,800 BTU wood chip smoker box with a dedicated burner.

With over 50 years in business, Weber Grills customer service is as good as it gets. They have a 10 year warranty on the grill body and on the burners. They have reputable service and quickly handle any service or replacement part situations.

Things To Consider:

The burner housing and the rear of the grill, even on the stainless steel models, are constructed of porcelain-enameled steel which is not as durable as other all stainless steel grills in the price range.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want Weber's top-of-the-line grill that's powered by an all stainless steel cooking system with practical features that make grilling a breeze.

Question:
How close can the rear of the grill be to a deck railing (Trex)?

Answer:
Hi Rich. You should maintain 24" of clearance to any combustible materials.

Question:
Do you need 2 gas line to hook up the grill and side burners or can 1 gas line be used for both at same time? Can the side burner cook 2 pots/pans on there at same time?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hello. The grill comes with all the necessary hookups to use the side burner.

Asked by Big DAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

This question was asked on a different product configuration.

Answer:
Mine is propane with single hookup/tank, but I believe natural gas would be only one hookup as well. The side burner is a single unit with an inner ring and an outer ring. So only one pot/pan can go on there at a time.

Asked by Big DAnswered by possumracing47

This question was asked on a different product configuration.

Answer:
One gas line for both Can only use 1 pot/pan (a very large one!) at a time. But it does have 2 stages for cooking - a large ring and a small ring. So you can use various size pots or pans

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with our guide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s a quick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:

  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended location
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
