Quick start up and easy to use with its lower weight vs ceramic Komodo.
I've cooked on Weber's for a while now, including their Weber Smokey Mountain series. They all have done a great job. I decided to take the plunge for the Summit and I'm glad I did, It's out performed all my expectations. I'd highly recommend it.
The temp control is bit of getting use to, but after a few grills it becomes very easy to control the temp. I cannot wait for a ROTISSERIE unit. The grill is awesome .
It is a magnificent build but has major engineering issue. The igniter does a good job with charcoal ignition when the fuel grate is on the lowest level such as for smoking. For grilling the fuel grate is moved to a higher level and at this level the igniter is distant and doesn't work well to ignite fuel. The directions are to markedly increase the time of burning the igniter but I have found that it doesn't light the fuel well. Using a chimney maybe more effective to direct the heat from the igniter. There is probably an engineering fix. BTW didn't get a response to my query about this issue from Support.

Excellent charcoal grill and smoker in one unit. Long time Weber fan and this grill is easy to use and looks great!

Fantastic grill that exceeded my expectations. In the first 3 weeks of having the grill, I've made a pork butt and a brisket. Both came out amazing and had a great smoky flavor to them. I recommend to all grill enthusiasts.

This is a fantastic alternative to heavy ceramic kamado-style cookers, and I use it almost every day. It behaves very much the same as my previous ceramic cooker, but I don't feel like I'm going to break something every time I use it. I love being able to burn either briquettes or lump charcoal. It holds temps steady in all weather conditions for many hours. A full load of briquettes at 250°F lasted 24 hours with no adjustments needed. My biggest complaint is with the top damper. It's easy to use, but it rarely stays in place when the lid is opened. It's loose and moves too easily. Even after cooking on it for eight months (over 100 cooks), it's hit and miss. With build-up from cooking, it can stay in place. However, I like a clean grill, and even after a light cleaning, it becomes too loose again. For as much as this thing cost and as important as the damper setting is, I expect more. Another minor complaint is with the lower damper's ash removal feature. It "works", but it doesn't remove anywhere close to all of the ash, requiring manually brushing out the remainder. It doesn't affect performance, but it's disappointing. This could easily be a five-star product, but for the cost, the above issues bring it down. Regardless, I love cooking on it.

Absolutely fantastic! I have owned many Weber grills primarily charcoal in addition I have an original pellet grill, plus a large pellet grill and two other custom charcoal grills. I cook outside at least 5 nights a year year round. Saying all that only to come back to this is the finest charcoal grill I have ever owned. It starts very fast with the propane assisted starter. Holds the heat very well and with all the different accessories it is a full scale operation from homemade artisan bread or pizza on the stone, sautéd vegetables on the wok to grilled patron peppers either straight on the grill or on the skillet. And last but not least it is a terrific straight barbecue having cooked everything from steaks to shrimp and salmon both high heat and separately with the defuser.
I have had the Summit for about a month now. This is by far the best cooker I have ever cooked on. I have a Smokey Mountain Smoker, a 22 inch kettle and a Weber Genesis gas grill. The Summit will hold temp for HOURS on a small amount of charcoal! Much more fuel efficient that the WSM. I know it is a pricey product but it is "The Grill of a Lifetime"!!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
