I've owned Three Weber Kettle Grills over the last 30 years. Two were Performers, one lasting twelve years. I received the Summit as an anniversary gift. It's a thing of beauty. Here are the good, not so good, and bad. Good: It's beautiful and substantial. The double layer on the kettle has three benefits. First, once I can maintain temperature within 5 degrees over the course of a couple of hours. Second, I can grill outside in a New Hampshire winter without losing heat which means less charcoal and predictable cooking times. Third, in the summer, it insulates the chef from the heat. The addition of the charcoal layer for indirect cooking and the diffuser are terrific. I've make some incredible jerk chicken with the diffuser. Not So Good? The counter area is too small. Another few inches would have made a big difference. No convenient place to hang the grate. The protective for the grill cover doesn't attach very easily. The bad? First, the removable center section of the cooking grate is of little use and it pops out every time I remove the grate to put in new charcoal. The biggest miss? The ignition system is useless when using the upper charcoal grate for grilling mode. The flame is about 6 inches from the charcoal, resulting in 20 minutes or so just to light. Unfortunately, I've gone back to the charcoal chimney for lighting coals again. Overall, I love the grill because of the control. No doubt the best charcoal grill on the market, just wished I wasn't back to my charcoal chimney!

Love the grill. Cover is flimsy and doesn't adequately cover the grill, wheels, etc.big deal for me in Minnesota.
I still own both of my 1970's kettles but now cook on the new kettle exclusively.....great performance and I'm happy we purchased the new grill...
High quality. Looks good. Cooks very well!! Thought I was being sent a cookbook... Haven't received it..??

Had Weber products in the past, always have really been pleased with them. Looked at multiple other grills, but the Weber Summit won out hands down. Does everything I was hoping, and then some. A great product, extremely happy I purchased it!!!
I own three different Weber kettles and own or have owned several gas grills including Weber's but also TEC, Genairre, Charbroil and others. I also own a Primo Ceramic grill and have experience grilling on Big Green Eggs. The Weber Summit combines the best of all of them. Easy to light and use. Low maintenance and uses real charcoal. It can get hot quickly and hold temperatures just like an Egg. It easily bests the ceramic Komodo's when you need to reduce temperatures. And cleanup is seamless with Weber's ash dispensing system. The lid is easy to open and close with a heavy duty hinge that makes the lid feel sturdy but light weight to use. This is by far the best grill I have owned or used. It actually makes me want to grill more. Did a Turkey at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas. Family is asking for a Turkey during Super Bowl. Love this grill.

I replaced both a Weber gas-ignited charcoal grill and a smoker with the Summit Charcoal Grilling center. It is easier to control the temperature on both and has a larger grilling surface. Best move that I've made for expanding my grilling and smoking experience.

Bought this grill back in August and just love the way you can smoke or grill foods to perfection. The temperature can be controlled so easily and this grill is so well insulated, that grilling uses very little charcoal.

After 40 years of Weber grilling (always charcoal), I rewarded myself with this beautiful Weber Summit. It is the Rolls Royce for me. And with the propane starter the days starting the charcoal with a buddy burner and newspaper are behind me. This grill, with the double wall construction and thermostat allows the griller greater control in keeping temps consistent. I purchased this beauty in August, and everything has turned out beautifully including my Thanksgiving turkey.

I've had it for a year now. I love it. I still tend to use a chimney starter to get my coals going, but even that is easier because of the gas lighter. I never user the charcoal storage, so would have preferred more and/or bigger drawers, but that's me being nit-picky. It easily fits three pork butts. One load of coals will hold 250 for around twelve hours in the spring and summer. Everything I love about the ceramic eggs, plus its lighter, less expensive, and requires less maintenance. Exactly what I wanted. If you do decide to buy one, take a few minutes and spray the cover with camping water repellent one a year.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
