I have owned Weber grills and smokers since 1969. This has included the Weber kettle charcoal grill, the Genesis gas grill, a 22" Smokey Mountain smoker, the Performer charcoal grill, and the 24" Summit charcoal grilling center. I've owned the Summit for 2 years and have used it extensively. It is by far the best Weber product I have owned and I enjoy using it as much as possible. The Summit is very well made and is extremely easy to use. I use it as a grill, but most of my cooking efforts revolve around smoking cuts of beef and pork. The Summit's ability to hold a relatively constant temperature over a long period of time makes things so much easier. Very impressive product!
We bought this grill two years ago and it has been the best grill ever. I have smoked for over 20 hours with only the initial loading of charcoal using the BBQ Guru controller. This grill even comes with a port already for air controllers!!! The diffuser plate is great when smoking. Raise the charcoal grate and this thing can really grill steaks and anything else.
I've been cooking on a Weber Performer for 20 years this Grill is a Weber Performer on steroids... sold my Yoder Witchata for this Grill couldn't be happier...
Took some hard work to convince my wife to buy this charcoal grilling station after spending a fair amount on a high end gas BBQ a year earlier. A week later and having cooked a brisket, salmon, chicken wings and ribs, my wife now says it's the best purchase we have ever done. The versatility and ease of use is second to none. This thing should be marketed as a Komodo rival and not as a smoky mountain/kettle hybrid. The quality of this unit is top notch and the price is reasonable considering what you get. Similar Komados with a table are similarly priced.
It's very expensive, but well worth the money if you partake in BBQ often and don't mind spending more on the last grill you'll ever buy.
Let me start out saying my 1st Weber grill is a Summit gas grill. It was worth the price. Never a regret with it, 3 years later. The new Weber Summit charcoal? I really love it, but I feel like I'm cheating on my gas grill. (LOL) All said money well spent. My only issue is I'm still waiting for my free cook book I was supposed to get when you registered the grill with Weber. Would buy again.
I have had the grill for about 6 weeks. We've slow cooked pork shoulder and ribs. Done beer butt chicken, steaks and wings also. Following the Weber instructions the pork shoulder will fall off the bone tender. Two issues the charcoal canister is a pain in the butt to slide in out and it scratching up the shelf. Wherever could have done a better job like the old performer charcoal with a hinged top. Also have the yet to receive my Weber cookbook that was promised for registering the grill. Where is it Weber?
I bought this grill about 6 month ago and love it. I was a little hesitant because of the price but have owned several Weber products in the past and have had great experience with their products. This grill is exceptional. It does everything it advertises perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it.
Trust me I have owned more than a few grills. Love charcoal versus gas.
Great grill, adjusts and hold temps very well! Can easily get to very high heats and/or low for slow cooks. The only complaint is not with the grill itself, but more the lack of accessories included for the price (example: cover, charcoal rake, grate lifter etc.).

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
