| No Need to Make It Difficult!I purchased two of these and thought this is just way to hard. I finally got one lid on and was struggling with the second bucket when my son said, "Dad why are you making it so hard?" He told me that the lid was much thicker at the front so that rather than working the lid rear to front I should try working it from side to side. The seconde lid popped right on. | Installing on 5gal bucket is doable w/ knowhowI purchased two of these today along with a food-safe 5gal bucket and after a few minutes of struggling like the other reviews mentioned I was about to give up... until I found the trick. No tools were necessary. Two important points. 1. Make sure the handles are oriented at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock when compared to the mouth of lid. 2. As you install the lid start start pressing it on at the ~1 o'clock position near the mouth and work your way around pushing the lid on so finish on the opposite side at ~7 o'clock position. I think this works because it's where both the bucket and the lid are most flexible. I tested this on the second bucket and got the lid on on the first try with relative ease. | Was This Helpful? |
