Its 1/4-inch steel construction guarantees a completely stable and flat cooking surface of 864 square inches. Leak free double-weld construction ensures maximum airflow efficiency and heat retention, meaning you burn less wood for longer. Each Texas Original Pits smoker has hand-welded flanges on the doors to form a seal in order to keep in the heat and smoke. The dimensions in the name signify that this Luling smoker has 16-inch diameter chambers, a 36-inch long main chamber, and 18-inch long firebox. The main cooking chamber comes equipped with two 16 3/4 x 15-inch cooking grates while the offset firebox contains one 13 3/4 x 15-inch cooking grate and a heavy duty log grate. The offset firebox, by design, gives you the option to cook directly over flame, if you need a nice sear. On top of the firebox sits a built in pot warmer, good for keeping your sauces and sides warm. Dual airflow dampers allow for optimal temperature control and longer life for your fuel. Attached to the lid is the chrome stay-cool spring handle that keeps your hands cool while your smoker is piping hot. Adding to the rustic design, two 12 3/4-inch steel wagon wheels give this smoker mobility, allowing you to please a hungry crowd anywhere. With expert craftsmanship, maximum efficiency, and ease of use, the Luling Offset Smoker is sure to make you the neighborhood pitmaster.

Fantastic but…

Outstanding smoker/grill. Well constructed, all welded and fully assembled. There are two problems. First, the grate for the firebox is about 2 inches too narrow. It sits below the vent opening so there's little air flow below the coals and the space quickly fills with ash. I was able to fix this with a coal grate from an older smoker. At this price I would expect the grate to be properly sized. The second problem is relatively minor. The cleaning tool that is included is too large so you can't just pull the ashes out but have to angle it. Again at this price I would expect the tool to fit the smoker.

Good Smoker

Smokes grate, maintains temperature pretty consistently, easy clean and set up, biggest draw back is cleaning the firebox during use. While they mention it in the video, you really don't see how much of a hassle it is. I plan on getting some rebar to raise it a little higher up for better airflow and clean out during a long smoke. Other than that, I love it, the first few smokes on it have gone great! Deep penetration of the smoke, fairly balanced temps though a heat diffuser would help on the exhaust end to keep it a little higher. I would buy this again but I would buy the larger one in the future.

Texas Original Pit - worth your money

This is a fantastic smoker for the price point. The build quality will last you decades. The cook chamber is 1/4 steel. They do not have the following of all the YouTube content makers. They do not have a catchy theme song like the smoker in Georgia. I own an original Oklahoma Joe from Stillwater Oklahoma. I would put this pit easily in the same class. End of the day. This is a solid well build smoker for the money.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
