A high power grill for the avid cook and grilling enthusiast

This is a luxurious, expensive grill that most people will not justify. However, if you are someone that wants to achieve a great sear on a ribeye or tuna steak, use a rotisserie for 2 chickens at once, or grill more delicate fish this is a grill that will do so masterfully. If you are not aware, Lynx is owned by Middleby who also manufactures Viking. Akin to Viking standards, this is a high-end luxury-performance grill for the avid home cook. It's finished beautifully in all stainless steel, and in 9 months of use i have not found any corners cut. I received a grilling tool set and a cover with my purchase which helped me from a value perspective. The cover is very nice and the tools are of great quality as well. In short, I'm happy with my purchase and enjoy using it immensely. It's extremely heavy. You will need to bribe the delivery guys with a few bucks to get it where you need it, or have some friends help. The stainless is flawless and it's as powerful as anything I've ever used. The prosear burner lights up the first time every time as does the infrared. The conventional burner sometime takes a few tries, but it eventually lights. This was a problem from the beginning which I showed to a technician and was never resolved and honestly, I'm able to get it to work. When it arrived, I had a few issues including a bent cart door (likely occurred in shipping) and there were a few things that needed adjusting like the mesh on the prosear burner. I reached out to BBQ Guys (Ashley) and she connected me with Patricia at Lynx, and they resolved my problems quickly and with properly. I will add that one of the welds broke that holds a hinge on the cart door of the grill, and Patricia got new hinges fabricated with screws that worked perfectly. A lot of people would say they shouldn't have those types of problems with such an expensive grill, but aside from a few oversights and shipping jostling, the quality is there in the construction and in the customer service.

Glow plugs don't work and grill grate warps when heated

I just received my Lynx L30ATRF-LP last week. The first problem I encountered is the glow plugs do not work. When depressing the knobs the lights go out on the grill and there is no power to anything including the glow plugs. Lynx is sending a technician to troubleshoot and hopefully fix it. The second problem is some of the grill grate bars warp when heated. I have reached out to Lynx regarding the grill grates and hope they will replace them. Not what I expected for a grill in this price range.

The Skinny:

  • Luxurious grill with drop-dead good looks
  • Leader in grilling innovation
  • One of the best engineered grills
  • Stylish LED control knob lighting
  • Amazing warranty

Things We Love:

Lynx Grills are the sleekest and most innovative brand of grills I've seen. They are made in the USA and are amazingly engineered to be durable with inventive features not found on other grills. Lynx definitely crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's with their Professional series.

The Lynx Professional's exterior is made with a smoothly polished 304 grade stainless steel that seems to keep a like-new appearance longer than other premium grills. The Lynx also comes with stylish LED lit control knobs that look incredible at night and will really turn some heads at your next barbecue. Also, Lynx offers a ton of Lynx outdoor kitchen components that match the grill's quality and good looks.

Another nice feature on the Lynx is the fluid-rotating handle and spring assist hood that makes opening and closing the grill a piece of cake. This is a feature you won't appreciate until trying it for the first time, as larger grill hoods tend to be pretty heavy to open.

Under the hood, Lynx offers multiple configurations of the most innovative burners on the market, with unique ceramic burners and Trident infrared searing burners. Whether you want all infrared burners, all traditional burners, or one infrared with two traditional burners, Lynx will configure it for you and the price stays the same.

The innovative ceramic burners will never rust or corrode, while also providing superior heat retention when compared to typical stainless steel burners. Also, the ceramic burners radiate heat better towards the cooking surface than traditional stainless steel burners. Sitting above the ceramic burners, lies the ceramic briquette flame taming system. The ceramic briquettes sit atop a stainless steel tray, absorbing heat from the burners and spreading it across the grilling surface. Between the ceramic burners and ceramic flame taming system, Lynx grills definitely offer a super even cooking surface from front-to-back and side-to-side.

When it comes to infrared, many brands claim theirs are variable. However, I have not found an infrared burner nearly as variable in temperature as the Lynx Trident burner. Because of the infrared burners unique trident design, it allows you to lower the temperature, giving you truly versatile infrared cooking options, from scorching hot to simmering.

Some Lynx grill models offer FlameTrak, a groundbreaking safety technology developed by Lynx to address and eliminate gas grill accidents. FlameTrak monitors the flame on your Lynx grill using sensors. If a flame fails to ignite or blows out, the sensor will try to relight the burner for 13 seconds. If the flame does not relight after 13 seconds the gas supply is shut off, and a red light will turn on indicating an error with the flame.

Lynx's rear ceramic infrared rotisserie burner stretches wider across the grilling surface than other grills. By having a wider infrared burner, it allows you to cook longer pieces of meat (like pork loin) on the rotisserie, giving you a consistent direct heat from one end of the meat to the other.

Lynx offers a first class standard warranty on their professional grills. The stainless steel body, ceramic burners, rotisserie infrared burner and Trident infrared burners are warranted for life, and most other grill parts are warranted for five years.

Things to Consider:

While the one-of-a-kind ceramic main burners will last longer and both retain and radiate heat better than their steel counterparts, they are far more delicate and should be handled very carefully when changing out burners or moving the flame tamers.

Keep in mind that our video for the Lynx Professional features the all infrared model.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You appreciate the top of the line in luxury, performance, innovation, and drop-dead good looks.

Question:
My wife doesn't want to get our new Lynx grill dirty so she puts down a grill mat. Should we be doing this?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Frederick. Assuming you mean the type of food safe grilling mats that you place on the grill grates, yes that's just fine! But, you won't be able to get that same delicious BBQ flavor.

Question:
I have had the 30 inch all sear Lynx professional grill on a cart for several years and have loved grilling with it. We are going through backyard remodel and would like to use it as a built in and hook up to natural gas. Is this possible? If so, anything I can do with the cart portion?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Anthony, conversion kits are available to convert this grill from propane to natural gas, however, the cart and grill head are pre-assembled and it is NOT possible to remove the grill head and install it is a built-in.

Question:
Would I be able to cook indirectly ? Turn off one burner to put food over. How are the burners configured ? Sorry if the answers are somewhere on you website. I like to sear steaks for example, then put over a burner with no flame to finish cooking for guests prefer their meat medium. Thank you. Lissa Mattson
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hello, this grill includes a total of two burners. One is an infrared burner and the other is a conventional style burner. For searing steaks, I recommend using the infrared burner, as it has a very high heat with great searing capability. You could leave the other burner off to finish the cooking process.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
