Sears steaks as advertised...but
Love seared steaks and this burner does a great job! However, I'm disappointed by the screen's short lifespan. I've used it 5 times and at #3 I cleaned the screen and turned it on for 10 minutes to completely dry it out. Today I cleaned the whole grill and pulled the searing burner out to find it was rusting badly. There is a small hole that's brittle around the edges. I bought this burner about 5 months ago and the grill is located in my screen porch out of the elements. It's advertised as SS. Can't be 304!

I bought the sear burner in addition to my 32" Lion grill, and couldn't be happier. It does sears steaks and locks in flavor, but Im trying to get used to it. Need to be careful due to excessive btu's. its a must have if you have the lion grill.

I enjoy searing feature until the screen fails
I purchased a Lion grill because of the reputation, construction, and weight and included a stainless searing burner option. I saw the note about the lifetime stainless steel burner warranty and assumed this device had the same warranty as the other burners. It does not! At the bottom of a screen is a disclaimer stating this stainless steel burner is only warrantied for 1 year. The good news is they offer a replacement screen. I'll soon find out how much it costs and how much for shipping. I really don't believe a fire screen should crack in the middle.

Hot but flimsy and uneven
The burner is spotty but very hot, especially at the very top of the burner with a wall of blue flames shooting out across the top. It does a great job cooking IF you keep a very watchful eye and move the meat around regularly -- like every 15-30 seconds for steaks. A couple of steaks came out perfectly last night (M for my wife, MR for me). My grill has two searing burners side by side and one is cooler than the other, with the hotter on the far right side of my five burner grill. Know your heat temperature areas and keep on top of things or results will not be good. These areas with significant temperature differences are pretty small so I avoided calling them heat zones. I've owned these burners for three years and use the searing burners from time to time. Most often, I use the regular cast burners. The mesh on top of the burners looks like a tiger attacked it with claws. One is particularly bad. I've ordered new meshes for the burner (Part number 30917 - Protective Screen for Searing Burner) from BBQ Guys for $20 each. When they come in next week, I will see how everything looks underneath the screen and determine how to even out the heat, if I can. Kudo's to Lion -- they are very helpful on the phone and via the internet. Good organization that needs to build a more durable searing burner.

Don't buy!
This product sucks. The temp does not get that hot and it flares up like crazy. Kudos to Lion for trying to make it right by sending a replacement twice but at the end of the day the rating needs to reflect the product performance. Look elsewhere.

I'd not waste my money on this burner again. The REALLY sad part is I paid for the "upgrade" and would much rather have another regular burner.

Not a good option...
Screen is VERY flimsy! I have gone through two in three years and I do not use the burner very much. Grill is good overall but this option reduces it's overall score, in my opinion. They should develop one that works. As it is, I do not recommend it at all.

Do you have another searing burner that will fit the lion premium grill? I bought one of these a couple of years ago and it deteriorates quickly to to point of disintegration of the top grill of burner

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences.
