Got this new in 1987. Used it a few times per season. After about 20 years of use, the motor stopped working, so I just put it away. A few years ago, I took it out of storage from my garage to see if I could fix it. I opened the motor case, removed the debris and dead bugs, cleaned the electrical contacts, and lubricated the gears. To my amazement, it started working again! Since then, I've used it to make our Thanksgiving turkey using the Weber orange-sage recipe. Can't beat Weber!

the operation of the unit is great the only downfall is that you need 4 pit forks minimum 2 is not enough and the thumb screws should be stainless steel not chromed

After going back and forth on which rotisserie to purchase, I'm so glad I went with Weber. You definitely get what you pay for in quality of fit and finish of all components along with a very powerful motor.
My husband loves his new addition. I had to buy him a second Weber grill due to the rotisserie not fitting on top of his smoker attachment. Now he has one grill for his rotisserie and one for his smoker. He is thrilled.
The best bbq attachment on the market, HANDS DOWN!!!
The ring extension fits poorly on the Weber kettle. As if not measured correctly during manufacturing. Seems as if poor quality control. The motor and the skewer rod were fine.
Used this with a chicken for the first time on July 4th, results were great, moist jusy bird with lots of flavor and the process was fun to set up. Looking forward to a rib roast next
I'm very pleased with the Rotisserie. Used it recently to smoke a chicken, drip pan below and indirect charcoal heat. The meat came out juicy and smokey. Like the Rotisserie for the gas grill, it is very easy to use. I thought about buying it for a long time, and I'm glad I did it.
The rotisserie for 22" charcoal grills *could* be a great product, but I can't recommend it. The thickness and weight of the metal is not enough for the ring to keep its shape or even stay on straight until the kettle lid is replaced. I bought the rotisserie with great anticipation. Unfortunately, the ring did not fit my Platinum Performer snugly, even when it was brand new. That was a big let-down. Not all parts of the product are bad, however. The spit is solid metal and I've seen no evidence of corrosion. The wood handle is sturdy. In particular, the motor works very well. I've accidentally left it outside overnight in the rain and it continues to work reliably. All the problems stem from the inadequate ring. As I said, it didn't fit snugly, even when I removed it from the damage-free packaging. The thin gauge of metal used in its construction means that regular use bends it further out of shape. Note the considerable gap in the picture. The loose fit means difficulty controlling temperature and inefficient use of fuel. The loose fit and lack of weight means that, once the motor is attached, it doesn't stay on straight by itself; the whole ring sinks to one side until the weight of the spit and the food holds it in place. Holding it on steady makes mounting the spit a two-person job. I've managed to make some great poultry and rib roasts with this rotisserie, but that's despite its significant shortcomings. Everything about the *potential* of this product seems to say an engineer specified a thicker gauge of metal. Everything about the actual product says some bean-counting suit said that wouldn't produce enough profit. Next time, listen to your engineers.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
