Portability is great. Wile grilling I have to leave side vents completely open and top vent mostly open. To be able to regulate well I even have to leave lid partially open at times. In my opinion grill needs to be able to draw air from below the level of the charcoal. The air intakes are at the level of charcoal.

…but after more than 25 years of frequent use and outdoor summer storage, I'm not complaining. After all that time and use, one of the leg joints has failed on the kettle body, so it's time to retire it. I'll most likely get the same model. I like the locking bale that lets you clip the dome lid in place for easy carry. The placement of the vents at either side, rather than lower down, like the other 14" model, doesn't seem to limit the airflow, and means no ash-catcher tray needed. It's too small for an entire chicken of any size, with the lid on, but cut in pieces and you can grill or smoke just fine. This a great small grill and I'm glad I got it.

This little grill cooks so well. I've never owned a charcoal grill before and decided to purchase a smaller one try it out. The surface area is larger than I expected. The quality of construction is just as good as a big grill. So far I've grilled 4 pork chops, 6 steaks, 4 ears of corn, 5 bratwurst, and 4 green peppers. I do use the charcoal starter with it. I love it!

This was my first crack at grilling over charcoal and it's been so fun! Love the grill so far. I made salmon and it cooked evenly and had nice grill marks. Can't wait to use it more!

Because the vents letting the air in are above the coals the charcoal will not stay hot. Poor design

This is perfect for making meals for me and my wife. I can manage to cook offset the side the hot coals are located. After cooking I can close the vents and snuff out the fire quickly. Cleaning the grill is easy, making me use the Premium Weber Smoky Joe even more.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
