Napoleon Large Cast Iron Frying Pan - 56058

Received this cast iron skillet as part of the tester program and all I can say is wow! From ease of seasoning the skillet(did twice to give a good coating), to using for my cook, I found the cast iron skillet to be very well made, retain heat evenly and so versatile overall! I used mine to do a chocolate pecan cobbler, but the options are limitless to what you can use the skillet for. I would recommend reaseasoning after the first use and then after every few uses to keep the quality of the skillet high.

I am absolutely in love with my new Napoleon 12" cast iron frying pan! This thing is a tank – heavy duty and built to last generations. I was dealing with health issues when this came in so I was dying to open it. From the moment I took it out of the box, I could tell it was top quality. The craftsmanship is superb, with a smooth, even cooking surface and a sturdy handle that makes maneuvering this beast a breeze (even when it's loaded with food). I've used it for salmon so far, but this definitely can be used for everything from searing steaks to frying eggs to baking cornbread, and it performs flawlessly every time. The heat distribution is incredible, so I get that perfect, even cook whether I'm on the stovetop or in the oven. Clean up is a cinch too! If you're looking for a cast iron pan that will last a lifetime and deliver amazing results, look no further. This Napoleon is worth every penny. Highly, highly recommend!

This large cast iron pan is my new favorite thing to cook with. The size and depth of the pan is amazing for just about anything you want to cook. It easily goes from the grill/stove to the oven to complete the steaks. I have had this for about a month now and I use this 2 times a day. I would highly recommend the cast iron frying pan for your grill or home. The cast iron is similar or better quality than some of the high end cast iron that I cook with. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of products that Napolean continues to put out.

I received this product for free from Napoleon for testing purposes. This has quickly become my new favorite pan! I can't stress enough how important properly seasoning new cast iron is. I lightly coated the pan with canola oil and heated it up to 500 degrees and let it run for an hour. I repeated the process 3 more times and had a nice black, mostly nonstick surface. The first time I used it I made a simple spam fried rice. I started with the spam and then cooked the egg. The egg stuck to the pan some, but wasn't too bad. Added some frozen vegetables and rice and contued to cook. The high walls of the pan make it easy to cook a large amount without spilling over. The next thing I tried was a pepperoni pizza dip with garlic monkey bread. Everything cooked nice and even and nothing stuck this time. The cast iron retains the heat really nicely and kept the dip warm until it was all gone. Turned out as a great appetizer for some Football! The next thing I made was a side of zuchinni and onions on the grill. Simple side that cooks up quickly. Once again, the large capacity allowed me to load it up. Definitely good for making enough to feed a family. Next I made some breakfast including bacon, eggs and pancakes. This is where I could tell that the pan has become perfectly seasoned. The pancakes cooked evenly without sticking. The eggs just slide off the bottom. Overall, this is an incredibly versatile pan. It's heavy and sturdy as you would expect of cast iron. It's got a large cooking surface and deep walls to accommodate a family size amount of food.

I got this about a month ago and it took me awhile to use it because I was gone on vacation. After seasoning it, I have used it three times. First, I browned some country-style ribs on top of the stove. The pan is light and I like the fact that it has two handles. Then, I made cornbread by baking it in the skillet at 425 degrees in the oven. The cornbread turned out fantastic. I was very pleased at the evenness of the way the cornbread baked. Finally, I made stir-fry in the pan on the top of the stove and it turned out fantastic. My favorite feature of the pan are the high sides. They give you more surface room and allow to to bake things in the pan.

Absolutely love this cast iron frying pan!! It has very quickly become one of our favorites. Perfect size, weight and a great design. Heats very nicely, this will get a lot of use and last us a lifetime. Highly recommended!

I received this pan as part of the tester team and was anxious to give it a try. I used to cook quite a bit on cast iron while camping and was looking forward to giving the pan a try. Due to a recent spell of rain I actually ended up using the pan indoors on my gas range to make some steaks. The pan worked flawlessly. I did season the pan first a couple days prior to using it for the first time. Created a great sear on some NY strip streaks and finished in the over to perfection. I definitely reccomend the pan. It was heavy as expected and the construction was spot on. The size was perfect for two 12oz steaks and the high sides were a nice touch compared to my other cast iron pans.
