I'm in receipt of the cast iron Dutch oven as a tester for Napoleon, here are my thoughts after using it for the first time at Thanksgiving. (Yes I know you're thinking what a risk 😱), nope couldn't have been any better. I did a duck cassoulet with it and it couldn't have worked any better, the skin came super crispy and the duck very moist after being covered with the lid for 90 minutes. I'd say the only "wish" would be that if all cast iron would come pre-seasoned, it would save time on the end users time and allow immediate use of the products.
First time I've used any cast iron and it was incredible. I cooked a coq au vin and the chicken was so tender and juicey. The cleaning was incredibly easy and I can't wait to make more recipes with it!
I never knew I needed a Dutch Oven until I got one. I just got this a few days ago and I can say the quality is excellent just like all the other Napoleon products I have . I seasoned it yesterday and did my first cook today. I used it for smoked Over the Top Chili. It was so convenient to just sear the steak in it and then go to peppers/ onions and then straight to the chili. It's very heavy duty and could definitely hold up to campfire use as well. I look forward to all my future cooks with it!
I received one of these for free from Napoleon for testing. As a cast iron collector, I was optimistic, but not really expecting greatness. Upon receiving this Dutch Oven, I found it to be well made and high quality! The lid fits perfectly, the cast iron is a consistent thickness, and the base is flat and smooth enough to use on my glass cooktop. Heat dissipation is even and there are no hot spots or cold spots. I have used this to bake biscuits and had no burnt ones. Using it to deep fry donuts was amazing! The temperature drop when adding the donuts to the oil was so slight that it didn't make any difference in how the donuts turned out at all! Cleaning is a snap. The seasoning that it comes with looks pretty standard, but it functions better than any modern cast iron that I've ever bought. It truly is a rinse, dry, oil, and store cooking pot. There is no need from what I see to re-season this! Our family has been in a friendly debate the last few years over who should get grandma's Griswold Dutch oven. With this addition to my kitchen, I am taking my name out of the hat, as I would put this up against grandma's Griswold any day of the week. I am looking forward to taking this camping! The balance is very precise, and with the notched handle, I feel confident that I can hang this above a campfire without worrying about having my stew tip into the fire.
Received this product free in exchange for writing a true and unbiased review. Overall seems very well built and feels heavy duty. After a few cooks it has held up well and done its job without issue. The lid has a nice feature of feet and ridges to double as a stand alone grill which is somewhat impractical for home cooking but will be a very nice dual function feature in a camping setup cooking over fire. Only negatives I have to date are the handles. The lid handle is just small and not very user friendly if you have largish hands. Similarly the wire handle for the pot is just one single band and is not hand friendly at all, a coiled handle area would make it much easier to handle. Overall a pretty good option at a decent price point for those looking to use it outdoors and especially over open fire not on a contained grill setup.
I received this cast iron dutch oven through the Napoleon tester team at no cost. It's a great piece of cookware and I had actually been very interested in getting one for awhile so getting one for free was awesome. I made a Mississippi pot roast in the Dutch oven on my Napoleon Prestige 500 and it came out great. I smoked the chuck roast on my smoker for the first 2 hours but then threw the chuck roast into the Dutch oven with some spices and peppers. It was so good that my wife and picky daughter wanted me to make it again the following weekend. It was also twice as fast as the crock pot that I was used to cooking this meal in. I was also surprised how easy it was to clean, nothing was stuck on it which made cleanup real quick. This Napoleon cast iron Dutch oven is heavy and feels like it will last 100 years, it holds the heat in very well which is probably why it cooked my chuck roast so quickly. The cool thing is the top doubles as a grill grate so if you're camping you can throw it on your campfire and cook anything on it, I didn't test this out but plan to the next time I go camping. My next dish I plan on making in it is mac and cheese, I also want to try making some bread in it. I can see myself using this for a lot of different dishes because of its versatility. My only complaint was that it had a couple tiny dots of rust around the rim when I got it. Cast iron is very susceptible to rust so it's understandable. I was able to get it off without any issues but just know with anything cast iron you have to be careful with moisture, make sure to dry it off completely after washing. Overall, I am very happy with the Dutch oven. It cooked 2 great meals so far and I'm sure it will make delicious meals for years and years. Everyone should have a Dutch oven in their cooking arsenal, get this one, you won't be disappointed.

I was gifted to be part of a Napoleon tester team and sent this cast iron Dutch oven. After first seasoning this with grapeseed oil, I then put it to task doing some serious testing with it. The first item was corn bread, trying to test it as a oven, having never done this before, oh yeah, just what the doctor ordered. The second test was using only the lid with the legs on it, and flipped it over into the fire to try it out as a grill, letting it get smoking hot, it made the best crust on some burgers, this I will try again but with ribeye's! The final test was a pot of beans, not just reheating store bought, but first running some bacon and onions together to cook down followed by an assortment of beans going in to stew up, again, just what I was hoping for with respect to the performance. If seasoned properly, cleanup is a breeze and this will become just another tool in my grilling arsenal.

Received free product I was very impressed with how heavy and durable the cast iron dutch oven was. The secure lid allows for ultimate heat retention long after the cooking is complete. I would suggest that Napoleon include a use and care guide as some people might not have experience using cast iron.

I used this Dutch Oven to cook my chili recipe and enter a cook-off event. I seasoned the pot with Canola oil and baked it on the grill three separate times at 200 degrees. I cooked the chili over several hours at a moderate temperature. It came out perfectly and it was a sensation at the cook-off.
I made braised Chicken thighs in the dutch oven. Mouth watering and fell right off the bone, The taste was out of this world, As a first time user I highly recommend this product you will be very happy with it. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
