Key Features
- New Smoke Box to cook with pellets, wood chunks or chips, or charcoal
- Down & Out Ventilation for even heating
- Compatible with Sidekick components for cooking versatility
- Expanded chamber height
The Camp Chef Woodwind 36 Pro WiFi grill makes it easier to cook outdoors. Period. The combination of advanced features and smartphone monitoring and control gives you power to control the smoke and heat, and keeps you posted on the progress of your cooking. Not since Fred threw a dinosaur rib on an open fire has outdoor cooking been more appealing! Cover and pellets also included.
Smoke Box
If you want a little more smoke and more smoke flavor than you may get with pellets alone, the reinvented Smoke Box lets you cook with wood pellets, wood chunks or chips, and even charcoal. Use the damper to simultaneously control heat and flavor.
Down & Out Ventilation
The Woodwind Pro heat diffuser optimizes your smoking by pushing smoke and heat up the sides of the grill, then circulating and eventually exiting it through the rear exhaust. You will get even heat and smoke throughout the smoking chamber. With the Fan Only mode, you can cold smoke with the Woodwind Pro 36.
WiFi Controller + Camp Chef Connect
The Woodwind Pro WiFi line includes a full-color display with an easy-to-use menu dial, four ports for temperature probes, and a weather-resistant cover. The Camp Chef Connect app lets you monitor your cook from anywhere on your smartphone. You can set timers, check data from past cooks, assign labels to your probes, and set up push notifications. The included Smart Meat Assistant even lets you select meat types. It does not get much easier than this!
Smoke Number
The PID controller helps you regulate smoke and temperature. You can control how much smoke you provide to your cook by adjusting the Smoke Number. The detailed controller gives you the most precise grill temperature control in the industry. Increase the Smoke Number, and your smoke output increases. As the Smoke Number decreases, the temperatures will hold steady. Now you can ask your friends, what is YOUR smoke number?
Stainless Steel Components
Protecting your grill against rust and corrosion helps it last for many years. The Woodwind Pro 36 uses 430 stainless steel on the inside, and the butterfly valve, gasket, and burn cup use 304 stainless steel.
Sidekick Compatible
Expand your outdoor cooking capabilities by adding a Sidekick Flat Top griddle or a Sidekick Searing Station to your pellet grill. A Sidekick mounts easily to your existing side shelf holes. The Sidekick components are propane-powered.
Ash Cleanout
While hardwood pellets typically burn efficiently, they usually leave some ash behind. The Woodwind Pro 36 provides an Ash Cleanout to let you quickly and easily remove ash. Simply pull the Ash Cleanout knob on the side of the grill, and your ash empties into a cup that you can remove. Just dump the ash safely, replace the cup, and you are ready for your next cook!

I do think this provides smoke flavor beyond the a traditional pellet grill - but it does require some tending if you want that additional flavor. The unit seems very well built with one exception - the "chunk"/wood box. That part seems pretty cheap. It's difficult and clunky to pull in and out and it's tough to tell on mine whether the butterfly valve is open or closed as the handle seems to keep spinning. Outside of that and the cover (which is laughable for this unit - especially if you have the sidekick), I'm very happy with the purchase.

Just received my 36" woodwind pro. Simple assembly 30 minutes with a cordless nut driver. Just fired it up to start the season process. This is my 3rd camp chef in 5 years. 24" sgz 36" woodwind with shear box 36" woodwind pro One time my 24" started to have temperature swings. I called customer service and 3 days later a new update controller was delivered at no charge. I highly recommend these products. All 4 of my camp chefs still work great. Fired up the 24" after it had sit for a year and absolutely no issues with using it after all this time.

I bought this grill about 2 months ago and have used it several times. The only problems I've had are that it seems to take longer to cook. A whole chicken took 6 hours at 225 degrees. A brisket took 12 hours at 225 degrees. The temp seems to modulate about 10 degrees above or below the set temp. One meat probe quit after 3 uses and is apparently not warranted after 30 days! Not happy about that.
Bought this model in 21. Got a great deal on it. We had Traegar that rusted on the outside even with a cover, and Traegar could not have cared less, even under warranty. The camp chef has been flawless. It works perfectly, and is not overly complicated. It just works. Easy to clean. No exterior rust what so ever. I had one issue with the drip pan, which I figured is normal wear and tear. It rusted a bit, but was not a huge deal, it just catches grease and diffuses heat. It "popped" under high heat a few weeks ago and does not sit perfectly straight. I emailed support about how to order a new one. Support emailed me back, stating they are sending me a new one under warranty. Seriously, this company stands by its product and its a great product that wont disappoint you two years down the line like everything else on the market claiming to be "high end". Also, the pellets are awesome.

This is my third camp chef pellet grill and each one gets better. The woodwind pro has some great upgrades. I love the four caster wheels it makes storage and moving easier, the back vents ( no chimney) make taking on and off the cover a breeze. The new styling looks more substantial and refined. This new smoker will level up your smokes. The new smoke box puts out a lot of smoke and is easy to use. The new system provides amazing bark and the cold smoke option is amazing. True smoking purest will never believe your cooks are from a pellet grill. All this with the amazing ash clean out keep camp chef at the top to the game.

The assembly of the grill was very easy with the instructions. All the hardware was labeled with the steps for assembly. First time cooking a pork loin and baby back ribs was very good. The temperature stayed within 3-4 degrees at smoke level 7. I added Hickory wood chunks early in the cook. I was extremely pleased with the results thru the whole process. Seams like Camp Chef nailed it out the park with this woodwind pro. The smoke box is definitely a game changer.
I have been a Camp Chef pellet smoker for over five years now, working my way up from my DXL to the Woodwind SG and now the PROUD OWNER of a Woodwind PRO 36. From the unboxing and assembly to lighting it off and experiencing the new Smoke Box and Down& Out exhaust, I was blown away by it's ability to truly CONTROL my smoke level and flavor punch. The additional features like the wider shelf down below, the FAN only mode on the controller ( think smoking cheese now) the ALL Stainless steel barrel, casters on all four BEEFY legs and so much more. This Smoker/ Oven raised the bar for all others in this space. They will all be playing catch up for years to come. HAT TIP and a thank you Camp Chef or once again giving us things we WANT and need to make the best food we can at home. LOVE THIS WOODWIND PRO 5 STARS AND A YAHOOOOO!!!

The assembly was great on the Woodwind Pro - super easy. The build quality alone is worth the price, but the flavor and ability to customize your smoke is unmatched. I can skip the added flavor when I'm baking or making pizza and have stick burner flavor when I toss on a brisket. Great job, Camp Chef!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
