Key Features
- New Smoke Box to cook with pellets, wood chunks or chips, or charcoal
- Down & Out Ventilation for even heating
- Compatible with Sidekick components for cooking versatility
- Expanded chamber height
The Camp Chef Woodwind 36 Pro WiFi grill makes it easier to cook outdoors. Period. The combination of advanced features and smartphone monitoring and control gives you power to control the smoke and heat, and keeps you posted on the progress of your cooking. Not since Fred threw a dinosaur rib on an open fire has outdoor cooking been more appealing! Cover and pellets also included.
Smoke Box
If you want a little more smoke and more smoke flavor than you may get with pellets alone, the reinvented Smoke Box lets you cook with wood pellets, wood chunks or chips, and even charcoal. Use the damper to simultaneously control heat and flavor.
Down & Out Ventilation
The Woodwind Pro heat diffuser optimizes your smoking by pushing smoke and heat up the sides of the grill, then circulating and eventually exiting it through the rear exhaust. You will get even heat and smoke throughout the smoking chamber. With the Fan Only mode, you can cold smoke with the Woodwind Pro 36.
WiFi Controller + Camp Chef Connect
The Woodwind Pro WiFi line includes a full-color display with an easy-to-use menu dial, four ports for temperature probes, and a weather-resistant cover. The Camp Chef Connect app lets you monitor your cook from anywhere on your smartphone. You can set timers, check data from past cooks, assign labels to your probes, and set up push notifications. The included Smart Meat Assistant even lets you select meat types. It does not get much easier than this!
Smoke Number
The PID controller helps you regulate smoke and temperature. You can control how much smoke you provide to your cook by adjusting the Smoke Number. The detailed controller gives you the most precise grill temperature control in the industry. Increase the Smoke Number, and your smoke output increases. As the Smoke Number decreases, the temperatures will hold steady. Now you can ask your friends, what is YOUR smoke number?
Stainless Steel Components
Protecting your grill against rust and corrosion helps it last for many years. The Woodwind Pro 36 uses 430 stainless steel on the inside, and the butterfly valve, gasket, and burn cup use 304 stainless steel.
Sidekick Compatible
Expand your outdoor cooking capabilities by adding a Sidekick Flat Top griddle or a Sidekick Searing Station to your pellet grill. A Sidekick mounts easily to your existing side shelf holes. The Sidekick components are propane-powered.
Ash Cleanout
While hardwood pellets typically burn efficiently, they usually leave some ash behind. The Woodwind Pro 36 provides an Ash Cleanout to let you quickly and easily remove ash. Simply pull the Ash Cleanout knob on the side of the grill, and your ash empties into a cup that you can remove. Just dump the ash safely, replace the cup, and you are ready for your next cook!

I recently bought the Woodwind Pro 36 because of the great reviews. Camp Chef hit a home run with this grill on all fronts. From the super organized assembly instructions with great support, this is by far the best grill I've ever owned. Everything has lived up to the hype. The smoke box is genius which puts it in a class by itself. I'd buy ten grills if I could use them.... great grill..keep up the good work!!
Brought this for my husband and he loves it! It's well built
I bought this just before Thanksgiving to replace and older smoker of another brand. The chunk box with the ability to add blasts of different smoke flavors is what interested me first but this smoker is so much more. The only thing it needs (and I plan on adding) is the sear box for perfect smoked and seared porterhouse steaks.

Just bought it last week put together nice and well built
This thing has been an absolute game changer for me. I first got into smoking a few years back and thought I had made a wise purchase with my old pitboss smoker/grill combo. Wow was I wrong. After making a brisket and a few other cuts on the Woodwind, it was simply no contest. I couldn't believe the flavor I was missing out on. I always wanted to get a true stick burner, but just don't have the time to babysit a fire all day and night. This is the perfect solution. Even after making a few things for some friends who swear by stick burners, they were more than impressed. One of them even bought one for himself the next day. The sidekick sear is awesome as well. This provides a very uniform heat over the grill surface, which is more than I can say for my last grill. Can't wait to get some of the additional attachments down the road. I really thought this was just another gimmick bbq, but I decided to give it a shot. Very very glad I decided to purchase this, worth every penny.
I've done several cooks, from four large briskets to grilling burgers on the side kick. There's definitely a learning curve coming from a charcoal smoker, but it's produced really good food so far. I'm confident that with time, anyone can learn how to bbq great food.

My CC Pro 36 was on backorder for a while and finally received it. This is a huge improvement from my original CC Woodwind. The smoke box is a game changer. If you are on the fence with purchasing one, I would highly recommend it.
I usually smoke most of my meats on a stick burner, but this year I had a kid and I needed to find a way to still get to enjoy smoked meat, but without the responsibility of keeping a wood fire burning consistently for 12-18 hours. The woodwind pro series has to be the closest to an offset type experience, but getting to enjoy staying inside and managing everything from your phone. This pellet smoker produces bark and smoke flavor that I have never experienced when trying my friend's smoked meats and for the amount of ease it is to use, I think the flavor is worth it. If I could have a complaint, I would say, for the price and comparing with Traeger's high end smoker and they have a nice feature that lets the user know when pellets are low. However, if you are on top of adding in wood chunks throughout the whole smoke, you will always have your eyes to just see the pellet level, so this ended up not mattering at all to me and I am glad that small detail didn't hold me back. Only real issues I have noticed with this product is; 1. Pellets get stuck in hopper and need a good shake to get them to fall to the auger when viewing the level, it looks full, but opening the top and you see no pellets going through the auger is not fun. 2. With the sidekick, the grease catcher is almost rubbing the bottom of the sidekick and isn't the easiest access, but it does keep my dogs from getting to it as well, so this can arguably be a feature instead of an issue. overall it is a great product that probably gives you the closest experience to what actual wood burning bark/flavor can give you, but allows you to have your day back to do other things and have a great meal at the end of the day.
Been using the Woodwind Pro 36 for about 8 months, turns out a great product with min effort. The flattop side kick is great, makes for an outstanding 1-2 punch.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
