Key Features
- New Smoke Box to cook with pellets, wood chunks or chips, or charcoal
- Down & Out Ventilation for even heating
- Compatible with Sidekick components for cooking versatility
- Expanded chamber height
The Camp Chef Woodwind 36 Pro WiFi grill makes it easier to cook outdoors. Period. The combination of advanced features and smartphone monitoring and control gives you power to control the smoke and heat, and keeps you posted on the progress of your cooking. Not since Fred threw a dinosaur rib on an open fire has outdoor cooking been more appealing! Cover and pellets also included.
Smoke Box
If you want a little more smoke and more smoke flavor than you may get with pellets alone, the reinvented Smoke Box lets you cook with wood pellets, wood chunks or chips, and even charcoal. Use the damper to simultaneously control heat and flavor.
Down & Out Ventilation
The Woodwind Pro heat diffuser optimizes your smoking by pushing smoke and heat up the sides of the grill, then circulating and eventually exiting it through the rear exhaust. You will get even heat and smoke throughout the smoking chamber. With the Fan Only mode, you can cold smoke with the Woodwind Pro 36.
WiFi Controller + Camp Chef Connect
The Woodwind Pro WiFi line includes a full-color display with an easy-to-use menu dial, four ports for temperature probes, and a weather-resistant cover. The Camp Chef Connect app lets you monitor your cook from anywhere on your smartphone. You can set timers, check data from past cooks, assign labels to your probes, and set up push notifications. The included Smart Meat Assistant even lets you select meat types. It does not get much easier than this!
Smoke Number
The PID controller helps you regulate smoke and temperature. You can control how much smoke you provide to your cook by adjusting the Smoke Number. The detailed controller gives you the most precise grill temperature control in the industry. Increase the Smoke Number, and your smoke output increases. As the Smoke Number decreases, the temperatures will hold steady. Now you can ask your friends, what is YOUR smoke number?
Stainless Steel Components
Protecting your grill against rust and corrosion helps it last for many years. The Woodwind Pro 36 uses 430 stainless steel on the inside, and the butterfly valve, gasket, and burn cup use 304 stainless steel.
Sidekick Compatible
Expand your outdoor cooking capabilities by adding a Sidekick Flat Top griddle or a Sidekick Searing Station to your pellet grill. A Sidekick mounts easily to your existing side shelf holes. The Sidekick components are propane-powered.
Ash Cleanout
While hardwood pellets typically burn efficiently, they usually leave some ash behind. The Woodwind Pro 36 provides an Ash Cleanout to let you quickly and easily remove ash. Simply pull the Ash Cleanout knob on the side of the grill, and your ash empties into a cup that you can remove. Just dump the ash safely, replace the cup, and you are ready for your next cook!

I bought this 2 months ago for my son he loves it gave his other Campchef a break while getting use to woodwind pro . Thanks camp chef for another great product.
I've owned this product since the day after it was released for sale to the public. When I saw this product, I thought to myself, if this grill works as advertised, this is the iPhone of barbecue grills! I want to start by saying I would consider myself an above average griller with about 5 years of experience with using a pellet grill at least 1-2 a week. I've cooked most common foods on my Camp Chef Woodwind Pro to include: brisket, pork butt, ribs, steak, beef ribs, pork belly, fish, lobster, lamb, chicken, turkey, macaroni and cheese, pies, pizza, cookies, as well as other foods. I have cooked ten racks of ribs at once, four pork butts and a couple briskets. So I have quite some experience with this grill so I felt now was the proper time for a review. I will list what I like and what I do not like about the grill. First, the revolution of pellet grills is here! The taste of the food that comes off the Woodwind grill is far superior than any other standard pellet grill that is not a fair comparison. I don't have tons of experience with offset smokers, however, the meat that I have tasted from an offset smoker is more comparable in taste than other pellet grills. The smoke box feature delivers the mild wood flavor that is lacking from a pellet smoker. Like any other grill, it does take some practice to learn how to use effectively. Once you know how long it takes to ignite the wood chunks (I've learned wood chips burn extremely fast so it's largely a waste of time), when to put more wood, and how big of chunks to use, the smoke box will become your best friend when it comes to flavor. The welds on the handle where the smoke box connect were not very strong and bent on me while I was removing the smoke box to add more wood during a cook. It's been noted in other videos that the handle on the door of the smoke box should be bigger so it doesn't burn your fingers so I have managed to stay away from that. The smoke box does have an inverted v-shape on the bottom so it does get slightly tricky when picking wood chunks to put in there. The valve does get stuck or hard to get open if the cover and smoke box aren't quite lined up which has been happening to me more frequently the more I use it. I know I'm mentioning some minor details because they matter, at least to me. All in all, the smoke box feature is the shhhhhhhh!!!! The other nice features of the grill worth mentioning is the Wifi connectivity, ability to control the smoke level, four temperature probes that can be viewed from your cell phone, as well as others that are common with other brand pellet grills. Now the reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is the quality of the grill could be better: The spot welds inside the grill were excellent upon arrival but the welds connecting the top portion to the main grill were already broken. As well as the pan on the bottom connected to the legs were missing rivets for the bolts. In all honesty, I did not contact customer service because I needed to cook for a birthday party the next day and I felt it was very minor that would not affect the function of the grill. The gasket around the lid area gets caught when I shut the lid causing a small gap and has started to tear. The worst part is the liquid from the meat drips to the bottom near the fire-pit, somehow makes it's way out of the grill, and drips on the ground under the side that holds the pellets. Very little goes into the drip pan on the other side of the grill which can be an annoyance. I noticed some of the screws around the grill get loose with time and some are not able to be tighten down due to carbon deposits where you put the screwdriver. So about 8 months of hard use and I don't think it will withstand the test of time, just my opinion. I know I described more cons than pros about the grill but I think it's more important that others know so they can make a great decision. I would buy this grill again even with all these things in mind because it easy to use, very user friendly, and that smoke box just can't be beat!!!!
My Camp Chef journey began over a year ago with plans to buy the Woodwind 36 with sidekick. As is normally the case for me, the idea of buying a new smoker evolved into a much larger project. A new smoker deserves a good home, so I decided to build a BBQ pavilion to house the purchase. This would mean expanding the brick patio, footings for posts, and finally the actual pavilion construction. With that done, I was ready to make my purchase. Much to my surprise a new version had been introduced while I wasn't looking! The Woodwind PRO 36! Wahoo!! So I ordered the PRO 36 with flattop side kick, the sear and the pizza oven all at once. May as well go big or stay home! Everything arrived in good condition. Assembly of the grill was straight forward, but take your time. I found the overall quality of the grill to be very good. WIFI set up went off without a hitch using the iphone app. Once assembled and parked on the patio she was fired up for break-in. Moving on to smoking a slab of meat was the next logical step, so that's what i did! Pork shoulder was first up. Loaded up the smoke box, and hit the smoker start up cycle. Leaving the damper open while the grill comes up to temp seems to be enough to get the wood box going. Once lit, you will need to keep it filled as it will eat some wood. I've found that starting with wood, and then transitioning over to brickets after 3-4 hours is a good way to reduce box fill ups as the brickets last longer vs straight wood. Smoker holds the temperature exceptional well so far, even under heavy smoke settings which I like to start with. The temp probes also work flawlessly, keeping me informed via the app. Okay, now on to the results... PHENOMENAL!!!! The smoke box really is a game changer! No seriously, it's a game changer! I've smoked on offsets, gas verticals, electric, other pellet grills and the old charcoal style, and this Camp Chef Woodwind PRO 36 is hands down the best! My home cured brisket flat, turned into Port Huron Pastrami (my take on Montreal smoked meat), was truly magnificent. Burnt tips? Stupid good. Ribs? Wowza! Even the sidekick flattop made some awesome cheeseburgers! Caramelized yummyness on a bun! So would I recommend the Woodwind PRO 36? Absolutely, enthusiastically this puppy is with every penny!

I've been saving up for a pellet grill for a few years now, and so far, I'm super pleased with the Woodwind Pro. I'm new to smoking, but the few things I've smoked so far have turned out amazing. I've achieved amazing smoke ring with the wood chip box on pork butt and ribs, and planning for whole chickens tonight.
Camp Chef has definitely knocked it out of the park again. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth feature are a great addition. No more long days of watching the temperatures!! The four temperature probes work perfect and as far as accuracy goes No Worries!! This is by far the best pellet smoker out there, with the added smoke box you can finally get the rich smoke flavor you've been asking for. This smoker is build like a tank, I found watching the Camp Chef video made the assembly and set up fairly easy. Thanks again Camp Chef for making such an Awesome product.

I ordered the Woodwind PRO 360 back in the first week of April. I received the items about a week later, but due to scheduling conflicts on my end I didn't get to assemble the device for another two weeks. The assembly went well. I did most of the assembly by myself and found the quality of the parts are top notch and alignment of all the holes were spot on. I was able to season the unit that night, but I was not able to cook anything for the weeks to come. Scheduling conflicts, bad weather, illness through the whole family and a vacation to the BBQ Mecca of Texas. Last night I completed my first cook. Poor Mans Brisket and Poor Mans Burnt Ends (both Chuck roast.) Both the roast and the meat candy came out perfect. The temps were easily maintained and the recovery after opening the lid for a spritz was quick. The WIFI app immediately notified me when the temps were either too low or if they were ideal. The built in smoke box is genius. Allows me to add the smoke while burning the pellets as efficiently as possible. I can't wait to cook a brisket this weekend.

Great smoker with many different cooking options . Only issue I found is the sear kit doesn't tie down to unit and can bounce off
I am so impressed with this pellet grill. I have friends with competitor brands and they can't get the bark that this smoker can create. I've cooked Brisket, Pork Butt, and Spare Ribs so far and everything has turned out great. Sensors have been extremely accurate and you can't beat the LCD controller and App. I've been able to control the smoke, temperature, and watch temp of what I'm cooking while I'm at work. When something needs to be wrapped in foil. I can call the wife and she can keep it going for me. Yes, the wife was not happy about how much this smoker cost but honestly it's worth the money and she's happy I made the purchase. If you're looking for a smoker, don't hesitate to buy this one. I already have friends looking to make the switch.

Bought the 36" woodwind pro about a month ago and I'm loving it. The smoke box feature is a total game changer. My past smoker was a Grilla Silberbac and it was great but love the added features of this camp chef and the extra size.
I had been holding off pulling the trigger on a wood pellet grill forever. When the Camp Chef came out with the wood fire box I decided it was time to act. This is hands down the best, most versatile grill on the market. Best investment I've ever made!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
