I got this grill.... And I thought the quality was good until I took it out of the box.. missing first two damper plates and got double the second two I thought this was supposed to be a reverse flow but what a joke! This is still an offset grill so I'm taking things into my own hands and fix it the way it should be. Also all of the spot welds will not hold up very poor! The lid is 1/8" out of square, doesn't shut properly, and trim for lid is not straight, poor weld's

After years of smoking with an electric smoker (we lived in an apartment) we now have a house with a yard. And I was able to get the Longhorn Reverse Flow about 9 months ago. After a lot of research, I decided offset was the way I wanted to go and reverse flow made the most sense. Research paid off!! I love this beast. Many of the complaints you read about are factually true: the firebox is a little saggy. The paint burns off after the first couple of cooks. It takes time and effort to perfect the process and the results. But t I don't look at these things as negative. It's all part of the journey. If I wanted an easy bake oven, I would have kept my electric or bought a pellet smoker. With each cook, my technique improves. And the food is ALWAYS AMAZING! I assembled it by myself in 95 degree Florida summer heat. That was fun! It had some leaks during the first burn but they all sealed up in time. I continually season areas where paint has burned away with spray canola oil. It's resulted in a rust-free surface. Simply put: the Longhorn Reverse Flow absolutely rocks!
This was easy to put together, if you have another person which it states in the instructions. But for the cost of this it should have come with a few accessories..such as grease drip bucket and gasket seal kit. When I unboxed it my charcoal box was broken at the solder points in the corner. Other than that Awsome!
This is for the Longhorn reverse flow. Pros: if you can obtain this for its original price point, its a great cost/performance. At the recent price point, not so much. - Cover fits nice, not too lose, not too tight, easy to put on. - Makes great food! (once you get a handle on fire management) Cons: -Immediate paint peel on the firebox, even with a small coal bed + 1 split of wood. -Barrel was bent in on the left side (facing unit), was able to hammer out with rubber mallet -lid or barrel is bent on the left side, leaving a good 3-5mm gap. Gasket on lid or barrel only makes the gap worse. -must buy drip bucket separate. Overall at the original price point, its a good bang for buck as it has quality issues. You don't need high temp silicone on the firebox, letting in more air isn't a bad thing. However the gasket on the lid area is a good idea (assuming its not bent like mine) I'd cautiously recommend the unit, if you're unable to get a higher quality brand. It's a definitely "you get what you pay for" offset.

When I started to build the smoker, I noticed there were big gaps in the firebox and where the box connects to the Main Chamber. I paused, ordered some high heat gasket and sealant. The high heat supplies came in and construction resumed. When I seasoned, paint came off the firebox, and it's rusted. I bought some high heat paint to repaint the fire box. The first smoke went fine. The metal is fairly thin and doesn't hold too much heat. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of this product. The smoker works, but I will probably not buy another when this one dies.
I love this smoker. Only complaint is one of the grill grates had a defective section. Also after the first use, the paint peeled off the fire box and I didn't get the smoker chamber above 325deg. So not sure why. I will repaint it. Wish I could get a new grate, but I don't want to pay for shipping cost.
Smoker came without seal between the halves of the fire box or from there to the smoke chamber Tow of the pieces were damaged prior to shipping I dined the smoker where they couldn't have gotten damaged in shipping Told customer service all they seemed to care about was me registering it then they said they were sending the parts but only sent one

Hey folks. I've read a bunch of the reviews on this site as well as others. I did my research, watched various YouTube videos and still decided to by this. It's my first one and I'm glad I did my research. I'm super happy with this! When I smoke meat, I babysit the fire and enjoy my day with a cold brew. This isn't a fire-and-forget pellet smoker. It involves work. You want quality food? Do your homework and learn how to use this tool. Sure, some paint may peel because of the heat but just spray some vegetable oil on those parts (like a cast iron pan) to prevent rust. Parts warped? No, you just didn't follow the instructions or watch an unboxing video. The ONLY recommendations I could give to Oklahoma Joe's is to brace the firebox better so it doesn't sag and provide a drain bucket. Otherwise, take care of your equipment, learn it, use it the RIGHT way, and you'll be pleased with the results. #grillsgt603

I put oil on the fire box after using it to keep rust of, no rust on my pit. I sealed it up and there is on leaks and did some other updates to make the way I need it for me. I can run 225* for over 3 hour not a problem, all way run it in Reverse Flow. I do a lot of low and slow cooking. I love this Pit, the best one I have had.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
