IVE HAD MY HIGHLAND FOR A FEW YEARS NOW COOK ON IT OFTEN, BOSTON BUTTS, SHOULDERS, HAMS, RIBS, TURKEY CHICKENS EVERYTHING IVE SMOKED/COOKED ON IT HAS ALWAYS TUNRED OUT GREAT. Bought the longhorn reverse flow last year, have smoked grilled even rotisserie at least two times a week never had a complaint about my smoke or grilling. Love hoe for the price it can be a reverse flow or traditional offset, to a bbq grill and yes a rotisserie. To me it the best for the price.
I have had this reverse flow for a year. Smoke, grill and rotisserie on it at least two to three times a week. Haven't had and problems. Love how I can can go from reverse flow to traditional offset to grilling to rotisserie usa by changing my smoke sack, removing four baffle plates. Well worth the money.
Used it. It's teaching me how to smoke. I'm really learning how to control temperature and fire as I get good with wonderful bark and magnificent flavor
Today is my first smoke day with my new longhorn reverse flow smoker. I don't know how well it cooks yet. What I do know is that bubbling and peeling paint during the warm up is unacceptable. I mean really, this is ridiculous!

Love it other than the paint is already coming off in spots. 1 have 4 other smokers but this is my 1st offset. Super happy with it other than the paint

My husband is over the moon and the inaugural smoke went extremely well. The problem.. the paint on the wood/fire box started bubbling and peeling right off the bat at the first lighting when seasoning the metal and then further when using the to smoke meat for the crew and now a week later the inside of the wood box is rusty already :(
I assembled this a few days ago and right out of the box the wheels were so chipped they looked used. Then I seasoned it according to the directions and the firebox paint bubbled and peeled right off. Super disappointed. I bought this to replace a 15-yr old generic smoker that never peeled, although with age it developed rust that I had to deal with. I thought a respected name brand like Oklahoma Joe would have been superior in quality, but it was just superior in price, it seems.

I know a good friend that owns this grill. He bought it before I got mine and has stood by it from day one. He has had nothing but good luck and great food come out of it. It took him a while to get the smoking down being reverse smoke but since then it's been a great grill. I think all the bad reviews on this grill are because they don't know how to operate a good smoker or don't know how to smoke at all. It is a science and takes patience and learning in my opinion it's not for everybody. Oklahoma joe is just a good product no matter how you look at it.
Like many others, I did my homework and wanted to find the 'best-bang-for-the-buck' smoker to get into the hobby. Landed on the OKJ's Langhorn reverse flow. Dumped another $300 into mods, thinking it would help, and to some extent it did (sealing the firebox, getting an upgraded baffle and grates from a 3rd party company, installing additional temp gauges, etc.) because out of the box, this thing is pretty disappointing. Long story short, this is an absolute bear to manage temps. The wood consumption required to get this thing to hold 250 in the cooking chamber was not something I was prepared for. Can you do it? Yes - but you need a ton of wood at exactly the right moisture content. It is NOT forgiving. Don't even consider trying to run this thing without dumping $$'s into the mods required to offset the poor quality. I feel like I messed up big-time and should have just spent the money upfront for a quality smoker. Lesson learned and hope this helps others who are contemplating the same decisions I was before I purchased this unit.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
