built in front shelf and side shelf. The ease of a pellet grill, but with charcoal flavor. Holds moisture well because of double wall construction. Can use with wood also. Gives the taste of an offset, without having to tend a fire all day. And everything i have cooked or smoked has come out fantastic with very little effort. Absolutely love this grill.

Really excited when I purchased this. Assembly was quite a bit of work so prepare for 2+ hours to open up all of the boxes and get everything put together. Directions are not always clear and photos are a bit difficult to see as they're all printed in black and white. But it is a solid smoker once built. My initial burn in did not go as planned because the vent flap that closes off the burn chamber must leak slightly so it wouldn't snuff out the fire. This caused me to lose all of my fuel. Working with masterbuilt support now to troubleshoot but am likely to have to disassemble to smoker just to get to the parts to fix it.

I'm 4 smokes into this grill. It does not disappoint. It is extremely well built and does a great job of maintaining consistent temps for the different cooking needs. It's a bit expensive, but worth it.

I love my Masterbuilt and this one is even better!

I love this thing! I have only used it twice - once for a couple of big ribeye and once for a couple of butts. All I can say is WOW! Tremendous smoke rings, flavor, and tenderness. Only ding is it was a bear to assemble by myself, and the legs were a real pain. But ease of use and flavor is tremendous and build quality is like a tank.

I bought the grill after owning many many other grills and smokers. I needed a new smoker. I search the information about lots of different grills and smokers. I looked at the Masterbuilt Gravity and thought I'd give it try. My thoughts were that if this girl does what I says it will do, I'll find what I wanted. It did. To the point I got rid of all my other grills. Thank you, Masterbuilt!

3 Rib Smokes, 2 Pork Butt Smokes, 1 Chuck Roast, 2 batches of beans and New York Steaks. Using an old charcoal smoker that finally rusted itself to death and decided to pull the trigger on an XT. Everything has smoke rings. The ribs were perfect, father in-law says it was the best meal he has ever had. And cooking the steaks, just as easy as a gas grill, but with the charcoal flavor! Same flavor as my old smoker but I no longer have to babysit every hour to "stoke" the pit. So easy to use with real smoke pit results!

This was a gift 4 years ago and it still performs well! I love the flavor of charcoal grills and this design makes it so easy to use. The level heat allows meats to cook without hot spots flaring up and burning me or the food.

Their are a few issues that I would change but over all I am pretty satisfied

I bought the XT in early February, and started using it in March. I am completely new to smoking/grilling and gravity fed systems. The system is very easy to use, and I've used a combination of briquettes, lump Cole, Cherrywood, applewood, and pecan shells, and everything I've cooked has been amazing! Rotisserie chickens, burgers, pork shoulder and pork butt, pizzas and a brisket. It has a nice touch of flavor when using real wood, and I love the fact that I can shut it down in my fuel doesn't continue to burn, leaving briquettes and wood for the next smoke! I don't think you can screw up using any Masterbuilt gravity series Smoker, and I would highly recommend the XT if you're on the fence!
