I replaced the 560 with the XT. They corrected/improved failings of the 560. This is so well constructed that you don't feel any heat until you open the hood. I found that with use the fan lever opens and closes fully with use. The thermostat is a whole lot more consistent as well as the wi-fi to your phone. I have used another temp system alongside the MB and the difference is consistent, so it gets me close the temp I want and just check it with a handheld thermometer. Love this smoker.
This is a game changer. It takes the frustration and anxiety of smoking with previous smokers. I can sleep comfortably knowing that my fire is not going to go out. If I need to leave home for any reason, I can do it comfortably knowing I can monitor from my app. I can turn it off remotely if my desired temp has been reached. It makes smoking a breeze, almost effortless. It was worth every dime, no buyer's remorse.
The new controller is miles ahead of the last. I'm very happy with it
I purchased the XT about a year ago. I smoke & grill on it about twice a week & 2-3 times a month with large long cooks like brisket. I own 3 pellet smokers but they lack the flavor that only charcoal & wood can provide. My briskets, tomahawks, short ribs, etc...don't touch anything besides my XT!!! If you pay extra to splurge on some higher end meats don't cheat your meal by using pellets to cook it. I originally purchased the 1050 a few months after it was released & it lasted me until about 2 years ago. The only problem i had was the warping & had to replace the fan once which is a very minimal complaint. The XT is MUCH more durable than its predecessor & i feel comfortable enough to crank the heat up to get that kiss of fire!!! It's extremly simple to use, I don't experience heat swings unless I'm opening the hood, cleaning is simple, & i love the new display location!!! I can't honestly say this XT will last me 5+ years just like my 1050 did!!! Masterbuilt doesn't disappoint 💪👍

I bought this smoker a few months ago, it has not let me down. The Wi-Fi range is excellent around my property. The master built charcoal is excellent for ribs, chicken and brisket. I can smoke anything and take care of my chores at the same time.
I have my Masterbuilt for two years I absolutely love it super easy to use.

it is ok
I bought this grill/smoker XT about a month ago and I have had chance to use several times, my biggest challenge has been starting the smoker with left over lump coal. I decided to use Briquettes with a Mesquite log. it makes it much easier to start. outside of that the flavor is phenomenal.
I am an outdoor cooking enthusiast with 7 smokers on the property. What brings me to buy my first Masterbuilt? The ability to go electric and use wood splits and chunks....There is a learning curve as someone who loves a good Ole stick burner. You MUST mix Lump Coal or charcoal with your wood splits or chunks. My first cook was a brisket, crazy but true and it wasn't half bad at all. Wrapped in butcher paper to maintain the bark but controlled temperature was a challenge. I have since made ribs and other delightful meats. I guess my other pics are to large to post but these ribs were delicious!!!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
