We love our new Opal ice maker. Very fast at making ice, easy to refill with water, very quite and looks so good with the rest of our appliances.

The ice is amazing, everyone loves it. However, we have gone through 3 units so far because of issues. So far the 4th is working great. Hopefully that continues.

Don't waste your money, and I mean A LOT OF MONEY! Went through three replacements and I still don't have a working ice maker. GE will definitely give you the run around and expect you to be the appliance repair person. They have yet to fix the issue and continued to manufacture this machine without fixing the same reoccurring issue. The machine will stop making ice and the ADD WATER indicator will light up despite the machine having adequate water in the reservoir. GE will then tell you that you need to stick your finger over the induct hole while it is trying to suck in the water. This will get the water flowing and ice will again start producing. The only problem with this troubleshooting method is it's only good for one cycle. It will then tell you to ADD WATER and the vicious cycle starts again. You will be soaking your hands in your water reservoir, sucking you finger over that whole every day all day. The end result is your ice maker is not going to be producing ice. I'm convinced GE does not know how to fix the issue for the future of manufacturing this product but they also refuse to admit they produced an inferior appliance and STOP SELLING THEM TO UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS! Stay away from GE appliances. If they would do this to a small appliance imagine what could go wrong with a refrigerator! BUYER BEWARE!

The machine makes lots of ice and is a good overall machine. During the night we can hear a squealing noise from inside the machine, which is irritating. The cleaning process is a lot of work, takes 18 hours to clean, and this is suggested every couple of weeks.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
