Key Features
- TruZone temperature control features 3 distinct, isolated cooking zones
- FlameLock construction protects your burners from wind, improving efficiency
- U-shaped burners ensure even heat distribution across entire cooktop
- P.A.L. Pop-And-Lock accessory rail lets you customize cook space
Traeger, a longtime leader in wood pellet grilling, lets you explore the world of griddling, frying, steaming, and more with the Traeger Flatrock griddle. It includes the innovation and quality we've come to expect from Traeger, and it's their first grill that runs on propane instead of wood pellets.
TrueZone™ Temperature Control
Three zones let you cook at different temps, and Heatshield Insulation keeps each zone isolated for truly independently controlled cooking temperatures.
Triple U-Burner Design
You'll get even heat distribution across the entire grilling surface with no dead spots. The burner layout gives you 2x the burner-to-cooktop coverage found is most standard outdoor griddles.
Flamelock™ Construction
By isolating the burners and flame from wind, this keeps the heat where it should be for consistent cooks while using as much as 28% less propane than standard griddles.
Propane Fuel Gauge
The fuel sensor and gauge gives you a fairly accurate read on the amount of propane left in your tank by storing the tank on a hook that attaches to a scale. This won't prevent you from running out of gas, but it will let you know when it's time to get a refill.
EZ-Clean Grease Keg
Easily accessible from the front of the grill, the EZ-Clean Grease Keg collects all your drippings and other grilling waste in a form that allows for quick and clean emptying.
Two 17 Folding Side Shelves
Experienced grillers appreciate having stable work surfaces close to their grilling surface, and Traeger provides two with the Flatrock. These are ideal for food prep and can serve as plating stations. Each shelf has a capacity of 50 lbs.
Pop-And-Lock™ Accessory Rail
With Traeger's P.A.L. system you can customize your grilling tool layout by arranging tool hooks, a small storage bin, a paper towel roll, and even a cup holder so that all are within reach while you are focused on grilling.
4 Locking Casters
Easily move your Flatrock grill around any stable surface, and once you have it in place lock the casters to keep it in place.
Traeger Flatrock FAQ
Does the Flatrock require wood pellets?
It does not! The Flatrock uses propane as its heat source.
Can I convert the Flatrock to natural gas?
No. The Traeger Flatrock only operates with propane. There is no conversion kit available.
Can I close the lid when cooking?
No - the lid must remain open while the griddle is in use, and you need to let it cool completely before closing the lid.
Does the Flatrock require AC power?
In order to operate many of the grill's control and monitoring functions, AC power is necessary.
Can I use an extension cord with the Flatrock?
Yes, but it must be suitable for outdoor use. This type of cord is designated with W-A or W on the cord's jacket, such as an extension cord of cord type: SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A, STOW-A, SJW-A, SJOW-A, SJTW-A, or SJTOW-A. If using an extension cord, be sure to use a No. 14 AWG grounded extension cord.
Can I just use one of the burners or do all three need to be on?
You can cook on the Flatrock using one, two, or all three burners. Thanks to TruZone temperature control you can set each of the three zones to a different temperature.
Do they make a cover for the Traeger Flatrock?
They do! The Traeger BAC749 is designed specifically for the Flatrock and will cover the entire grill with shelves in the up position.
Do I need to season the Flatrock's cast iron griddle?
To ensure the best flavor, optimal performance, and safe operation the cooking surface must be seasoned prior to your first cook. This makes it natural nonstick and keeps out excess moisture, which can cause rust. Traeger recommends using Traeger Flat Top Grill Seasoning & Cast Iron Conditioner or canola oil.
Can I use the Flatrock griddle indoors?
The Traeger Flatrock is intended for outdoor use only. It is not safe to use it indoors.
Do I need to turn off the propane tank between uses?
BBQGuys recommends always turning off propane at the tank between uses to reduce the likelihood that you will lose gas to a leak, and to provide an extra layer of protection.

I've been using it for a couple days now and it's by far the best flat grill I've had or used. I also have the Traeger Timberline pellet grill that I'm very happy with. That being said I do have a couple of feedback comments for Treager on the Flatrock if your listening. 1st: The side tables need some type of rubber bumper on them similar to the Timberline. When you fold the tables down for storage the P.A.L. assembly bumps metal angainst metal on the flatrock legs. It's noisey and it causes the leg paint and P.A.L. rail to chaff. It can/will become a point of corrosion in the future. 2nd: I know it adds to the cost but can you design a cover for the flatrock that's similar to the Timberline in that the cover works when the side tables are extended? The current cover version for the flatrock doesn't allow for the extended side tables and it kind of cuts down on the effectiveness of the P.A.L. system. What's the use of having the P.A.L. system if you have to remove all of the P.A.L. accessories to put on the cover?

The grill is great but the assembly was brutal. I have assembled ten smokers and they were all pretty easy but not the flat top. Also it could use a higher quality propane hose as when I put it on the load sensor the hose kinks. Love using it though.

Overall quality is fantastic. Everything feels well made. Knock off a star for to nit picky things. First thing, if you want to see the propane level you have to plug in the grill. I do not have an outlet in a convenient spot so I cant really use this. Second thing is the handles on the side of the grill surface itself, its holes that are in not the best of spots. It can cause issues when trying to push food against the grill wall and scoop it up. A few things have fallen through. Other then that the grill is fantastic, I do recommend getting the utensil holder, I did not and I regret it.

The best flat iron I've ever owned. My favorite part is the propane gauge. Never run out of propane again during a cook.

Bought this a few months ago. Gone through my first propane tank. Grille has been AWESOME. Very even heat across the entire surface. Love the different zones. Built very sturdy! Love you oversize shelves. Love the fuel gauge and the burner ignition lights. We went from a weber genesis that we hardly used anymore, to this. I bet we've used this griddle more the past few months then the last few years on weber (and not knocking weber genesis, nicest bbq I have ever owned). Just love you can cook large breakfast for everyone. Grill up sandwiches for lunch. And do so many things for dinner. It was between this and the camp chef gridiron 36 for me. Very similar units. I liked the height more of traeger. Also liked the 4 adjustable castor wheels. Gridiron doesn't have that, can only adjust the griddle flat top front to back, not left to right. Also liked the propane tank beneath the unit instead of the side as the flatrock can fold the shelves down...gridiron ya can't with a propane bottle attached. Grease management is awesome on both. I love the grease trap up front. It's a natural sweep toward yourself and is more the conventional way of flat tops at restaurants. I haven't been impressed by the other brands, other then the price. Ya get what ya pay for. Budget good griddle, camp chef gridiron 36. For me, it's the traeger flatrock all the way!!

I bought a Flatrock recently and am having a warranty issue. I paid too much for this unit to spend my first weeks working on it. Not impressed with customer service either.

Had my FLATROCK for 1 year and love it. I just had my first unsatisfactory call to support and it surprised me. Never had that happen before as they have been great to work with.

I've had mine just about a year and it has been one of the best grills that I have ever had. The things that you can cook are endless. I also bought one of the very first pellet grills/smoker that they made about 25 years ago and I'm still using it.

Purchased on Jun 4, 2024. Absolutely LOVE this flat top grill! I was down to the Weber Slate and the FlatRock. I am so happy I went with the Traeger. With the 3 U-shaped burners, you are basically cooking with a 6 burner grill. Super even cooking edge to edge. After a good seasoning I(I did 7) it turns into a slick surface. Had to call customer service regarding the plastic panel on the front of the unit cracking. Customer service was excellent. Did a live video and sent a picture and replacement part is shipped.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
