Napoleon SIZZLE ZONE Burner Windshield and Skewer Rack - Large - 71301

This product was provided to me by Napoleon free of charge for evaluation. This is for a Napoleon Prestige 500 Series natural gas grill. Out of the box the unit required simple assembly. The stainless steel box is three sided with a cross member piece that is attached to the front prior to placement. This drops onto the sizzle zone side burner. The unit offers multiple functions including two levels of cooking using the skewers as well as the ability to raise the sizzle zone burner height for cooking. The sides and back of the unit provides the wind shield. This will provide the shield as long as the wind direction is not coming from the front of the unit. The day I used it the wind was 10-15 mph so not overly windy. The evaluation I was performing was how the skewer rack works. The rack includes four flat metal skewers that simply dropped into the slots provided. They were easy to use and long enough to stay cool. For this evaluation I used all four skewers. Two skewers include chicken breast and two included vegetables. When I assembled the food on the skewers I spaced it apart as I normally do when I use skewers to cook on the main grill. Once I placed them on the unit I found the food needed to be centered on the skewers as the burner was a smaller cooking area. No big deal as I just moved everything into the center. The one disappointment was that the skewers are 3/8" wide. This is too wide to use small food items like cherry tomatoes. Normally when I cook food on skewers I start all the food together so I did the same. However since the sizzle zone is a single burner all food cooks at similar temperature. However I found that the outer left and right skewers are on the outer edges of the burner so it worked good to cook the vegetables on the outside and the chicken on the inside which is hotter. Overall it is a good product. It is something I would use on occasion. Also need to try the different options it offers such as using the Sizzle Zone burner with wind shield and Sizzle Zone cooking grate usage height adjustments with wind shield.

The Napoleon Side Burner Windshield with Skewer Rack is a fantastic accessory that really upgrades the functionality of my outdoor kitchen setup. Installation was simple and straightforward — it fit perfectly onto my Napoleon side burner without any adjustments needed. The windshield is incredibly effective at blocking wind, which makes a huge difference when grilling on breezy days. I had the opportunity to try this out and really enjoyed the ability to make food on a skewer. The unit is well made with high quality stainless steel skewers.

We received the Side Burner Windshield free from Napolean for testing purposes. First off, while we love skewers, we rarely if ever make them because we always felt they were not easy. Who has time to soak bamboo skewers? or who has patience to deal with the mess they make on the grill grates? This product is amazing - it is extremely easy to use, makes amazing skewers, cleans up and stores easily. The set up was simple, we just popped it right on the sizzle zone and began cooking immediately. The handles on the skewers do not get hot, which makes it easy to turn to get even cooking. On our first go around, we made chicken fajita and garlic butter sirloin skewers - figured it would be good to see the difference in cooking times between the meats. (on a side note, we put the garlic butter sirloin skewers on a soft hoagie roll, put a thin slice of provolone on top, put it under the broiler and had a pretty amazing cheese steaks). Both types cooked evenly and tasted great. The only thing we would caution against is putting too much food on each skewer. We utilized the entire skewer but the food on the ends didn't really cook. Next time we will use less. Overall this is a great product that helps create fun and amazing meals!

This thing is well built. It's solid stainless steel and looks like it will last a long time. The skewers work well with shrimp (haven't tried it on a lot of other stuff yet) and I think it will work well with veggies and other meats. You can pull the skewers off and toss a steak on the raised and now wind blocked rack. I live on the gulf coast so I get a decent amount of constant wind. It does its job for keeping the breeze under control. This is a great way to add on to your existing grill to get more use out of it. I grill at least 3-4 times a week and I'll be adding this into the regular routine.

Napoleon sent me this item to review. Unfortunately they sent me the small and my grill uses the large. Some of the things I like was the construction was good, all stainless steel and sturdy. I like Napoleon integrated different rack height for different cooking levels. Unfortunately with them sending me the small I was unable to use this function. I was able to make some kabobs and was pleased with ability to control the cook. I thought they would be to close to the burner. I did like that you could turn the skewers quarter turn at a time making it easy to manage the high heat from the burner. All in all I would recommend this product and will probably buy the large to try the other futures.

I received this product free from Napoleon for testing purposes. First let me with the build. This product is built very well, the metal is thick and just flexible enough to slide it in to place. The metal skewers are great and I think they are the correct design for this application with exception of the handle. A cool handle design would help this issue. I don't know about longevity and what the future holds for it. Cooking on it was pretty straight forward and simple. The food seemed to cook ok, like expected. What would benefit this design would be some height adjustment when using the skewers. The windscreen function seemed to work also pretty well. I have yet to make a solo steak on it and only used the skewers with it. Over all a good product and I am looking forward to the next great product from Napoleon. They are the leading grill manufacturer in my honest opinion. Would love to review a different grill or electric grill. If they came out with a flat top that would be excellent. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone that uses the sear burner a lot and is in a windy area. Great job Napoleon!

I received the side burner windshield last week and was able to try it this weekend. It works and fits well. I really like the skewers also. Heavy duty and sturdy. I do wish the side burner would fold up for storage.

I was given this for free as a tester. I made steak Kabobs with vegetables and the cooking was even, consistent and had no burns. It is easy to use, clean and made the cooking experience simple for me. I recommend this accessory if you love Kebabs like my family does.

I tested this and it is not everything that i expected. it does work Ok though
