I bought this for our motorhome. Found out during burn in because of the short auger the pellets will start to burn in auger. I got on a forum and discovered that this is a reoccurring issue. So I pulled the hopper grate and emptied the hopper. Let it run until the auger was cleared. Not sure if this will become a problem as my cooking will be low and slow. But other than that I'm still going to use it. I've read that it cooks well on lower temperatures. Just has a few bugs you don't run into with the bigger cookers. During startup it got up temperatures just fine. It's well made and solid built. I'm not unhappy with it yet and you have to be aware of the short auger and then decide if you're interested in a portable smoker.

Unfortunately, my unit never worked took it out of the box put it together, put pellets in it, and the auger does not function. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the unit fixed as quickly as possible. I purchased this unit because we are going camping in a couple weeks and it looks like a good product.

Completed burn in then the first time I tried to use it the auger stopped turning halfway through the cook. After opening the unit up I discovered the welds the attached the auger to the collar that connects to the auger miter had broken!

So far so good. I have been a loyal other branded smoker for about 12 years. This is my first pit boss smoker. Our first meal on it was NY strip steaks and they were great! Smoker heated up quickly and maintained set temp. My only let down was that it said there was a meat probe with this unit and I did not receive one in the box :(. Other than that it does what I want it to and do without needing to fire up my TL1300.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
