I've been smoking meat for over 30 years and have used all of the other types of units extensively. I was ready to try something different again so I got the 1050 model right before Thanksgiving. I have used it 3 times so far and each time was a joy. Still learning the ins and outs of the unit.
I bought this item a little over two years ago. It worked great until one month after the warranty expired. Now the fan won't run. Bad fan or one of the interlocks is bad? I don't know and I don't know what to do with it now. Oh well ...
I bought the 1050 about 3 years ago. It worked great...until it didn't. The power unit stopped working after about a year. I replaced it (wasn't super cheap) and was back in business. Shortly after that, the fan stopped working. I replace the switch to the main lid and charcoal hopper lid, hoping it would be a cheap fix. None of those were the problem. Bought a new fan and replaced the old one. Worked like a charm after that. But only for about 6 months. Now my fan won't come on again. When I close the main lid and the charcoal hopper lid, the power unit beeps, indicating those switches are working. The fire box door doesn't beep when I open or close it, so I'm hoping it's just the switch and not the fan again. As I said before, I love this thing when it works. Also, the Bluetooth connectivity is a little finicky and doesn't always work great. I haven't been able to get mine to connect for months, so I've just stopped trying to use it. I would still recommend this product. I really do love this grill. I just wish it was a little less problematic.
Simple! I am not a season griller! But I am on the path to being one! My best friend told me about this after having a delicious dinner at his house-the meat was down right good! So my wife got me the 800 series for Father's Day! Sine then I have used this grill every time I have a chance! Smoke a turkey, ribs, whole chicken and many more! I love this grill - The Family is Happy!

i like the smoker but some of the parts or cheaply made had switch go out after first uses and there is no contact phone number and to hard to turn in a warranty claim and i bought it for masterbuilt . but the smoker does cook good
Piece of junk! stripped out first use with a 4# Chicken. Very disappointed in MasterBuilt to offer something so cheaply made.
I just purchased the unit and as expected the unit was a pain in the A55 to assemble which I knew when I purchased. When done I saw I had one part extra #18 Side RH Leg Brace. I reviewed the instructions again and found in the illustration of step 11 but not in the narrative. It took almost 3 hours with no help. The packaging was fully intact with no damage yet I still have a small dent in the front. Once assembled on first start the fan made a terrible noise, I removed the fan and found the guard on backwards reversed it and it was fine. The app is clunky but works. The temperature control of this grill is amazing holds it within a couple degrees. Much better than my Camp Chef pellet. Overall operation is very good the QA/QC has room for improvement.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
