I like how this lump charcoal burns. It's a nice even slow burn that cooks all my steaks, ribs, wings, pizza just right. It gives all my food a great taste.
If you're serious about grilling and smoking but love the ease of modern tech, this digital charcoal grill and smoker is a game-changer. With 800 square inches of cooking space, it has more than enough room to handle everything from weeknight dinners to big family gatherings. One of my favorite features is the removable flat-top griddle—it's perfect for making breakfast outside, or switching things up with burgers, fajitas, or stir-fry. Heat-up times are impressively quick: just 8 minutes to hit 225°F, 10 minutes for 450°F, and 14 minutes to crank it all the way to 700°F. Whether you want to low-and-slow smoke a brisket or sear a steak with restaurant-quality char, this grill can do it all. The GravityFed vertical charcoal hopper is another standout. It holds up to 10 lbs of lump charcoal or 16 lbs of briquettes, feeding fuel automatically for up to 10 hours of cooking—no babysitting required. Combined with the DigitalFan™ technology, the grill locks in your desired temperature and keeps it steady throughout your cook. Controls are simple thanks to the digital control panel, and the convenience gets taken up a notch with the Masterbuilt app. Being able to set temps, monitor meat probes, or even shut down the grill from my phone makes it feel effortless. Other thoughtful touches include reversible cast iron grates for either high-heat searing or low-temp smoking, stainless steel prep shelves, and two porcelain-coated warming racks to keep food ready to serve. The built-in meat probe and temp gauge make it easy to nail your cook every time. Overall, this grill combines the smoky flavor of charcoal with the precision and convenience of digital controls. It's versatile, powerful, and packed with features that make it just as practical for a quick weeknight meal as it is for an all-day BBQ session. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended for anyone who loves the taste of charcoal but wants the control of a pellet grill!
I love these charcoal firestarters for their simplicity and ease of lighting. i know each and everytime they will light and get a good start on my Kamado Joe XL cahrcoal chunks
I've used the compressed saw dust fire starters without the paraffin wax, and they work, but they don't compare with these. I usually use two, like Chef Erik, and it works extremely well. I feel like it starts the fire much faster than other products.
The smoker smokes well and the grill works great but the electrical wires and routing really need to be improved. Seems like it's wired for a prototype. Nothing holding the wires to prevent them from easily being ripped out from the circuit board. Ran over the power cable with the bbq and the wires ripped right out with the slightest force. Had to open up the control panel and solder the wire back in. Something that can easily be improved.
Amazing grill / smoker for the family. Much more diverse than a pellet grill, due to the higher temperatures. Love it.
If you want a "throw away" type grill this is the one. The wires are such small gage the weight alone separated them. Offered discount to replace but never in stock. The manifold had to be replaced and after market better options. It's just cheap made and lasted less than half the life I got from my Traeger.

We loved this grill, even though a little tricky to light it was just what we wanted. Then it stopped turning on suddenly, seems the electrical panel went bad. Bbq guys customer service did nothing but send us down two dead ends and it's just sad to spend over $800 on an item and have zero customer service from the people selling or the actual manufacturer.
For transparency, Masterbuilt sent me this unit to try out, but they did not tell me what to say, nor would i agree to publish something that i don't believe in myself. You're getting my honest take here. I've been using the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for a bit now and honestly… I'm hooked. It gives me all the smoky flavor I want from charcoal without having to constantly babysitting it. Between the digital controls and the GravityFed hopper, it's pretty much set it, forget it, and still feel like a BBQ wizard. Load the hopper, light it with a couple starters, and let the fire and fan do all the work. The state in their marketing that it will git smoking temps (225°F) and 700 °F in 15 mins. I find that it hits smoking temps in between 10 and 15 minutes (and can crank all the way up to 700 °F in about 20-25 mins or so. For me, thats not that huge, as I typically find that my gas grill takes much longer to hear up. I've used it for low and slow brisket, ribs, and roasting fruit + veggies. It has nailed the cook every time. For other things, the cooking space is huge. With the three levels of grates, you can run different heat zones and cook for a crowd or just throw on a couple burgers. The charcoal flavor is clean and deep, and it's nice not having to reload mid cook on long smokes. I'm even going to test it this Thanksgiving with a couple turkeys. If I had to nitpick, some of the sheet metal could be a little heavier, so I keep mine covered to avoid rust. I like the app, but I have had a few issues. Its great when it connects, I find the closer you are to the grill the better, but every now and then it drops out. I find that it can be a little delayed on the time/temp notifications too, but lets be honest, your transferring data via Bluetooth, so a little hiccup here and there is to be expected. When you're cranking it hot, the fan will kick up a little ash dust too. None of these issues have actually affected the food and it still comes out exactly how I want. Bottom line: This is one of the most versatile cookers I have ever used. It has conquered every thing ive thrown at it with flying colors...with that true charcoal flavor that any one that loves grilling, or eating anything grilled, cant get enough of. Gas and pellet grills just can't replicate it. It's the kind of grill that makes you want to extend grilling season to year round. If you love the idea of charcoal cooking but want the convenience and control of modern tech, this grill will make you very happy.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
