Had to get a part to fix but love it! Charcoal cooking made easy!

I bought the 1080 GS three months ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision! I put in a lot of time and research before making this purchase. The flavor produced by the 1080 is remarkable. This smoker will put any pellet smoker to shame when it comes to true BBQ flavor!

Once you learn the tricks on starting the charcoal, it's pretty much set & forget. Packaging of the product needs to be improved, first one purchased was damaged. And I hear a lot of reports of damaged units.

I owned this grill since father's day 2020. The Bluetooth and Wi-fi features were a complete joke. I got them to work once during ownership. the grill was dented by someone upon opening the box, but I'm sure this is not Masterbuilt fault. What I feel is Masterbuilt's fault is the fact that since DAY 1 this grill was giving me error messages on the screen where it displays your temp and timer. Everything from basic "error" to "door" telling me one of the 2 doors or grill lid was open. (While they were all shut) these errors continued until thanksgiving of 2020. I had brined a turkey for 24 hours, then injected it thanksgiving day with a garlic butter and ginger/thyme blend. I was so proud of the time and effort i had put in to this bird. And it was my first thanksgiving with my new girlfriends parents, so i was looking to impress with my turkey contribution. I set my temp, set my timer, and placed that beautiful bird on my Masterbuilt 560, hoping it would not let me down, and went inside to prepare other side dishes. I was inside 20 minutes of an approximately 2 1/2 hour cook and went to check on my bird. I walked outside to a "door" error message. The grill had been stuck on high heat (700 degrees) with the fan on full blast for the entire 20 minutes. My beautiful bird was now entirely charcoal black. The switch to the grilling door had been subjected to such high temperatures the plastic melted. Bird ruined. Thanksgiving ruined. I doubt I'll be allowed to cook for another family function. The grill has since been parked in my garage. Unable to be used, unable to be sold. But at least I know it can't ruin anything else now.

I have had this grill/smoker since May of 2020 and it the best most consistent smoker and grill that I have had yet. The gravity fed charcoal is way better for me than a pellet grill and the rotisserie has been flawless so far.

I bought this grill about 4 weeks. So ar web have made the basic hambugers/hotdogs, steaks, and my favorite slow cooked ribs. For burgers and hotdogs, it cooks great at high temperatures. Slow and smoking is where this grill shines. Did the reverse sear on 1.5" thick porterhouse and they came out PERFECT. Proceeded to do a 6 hour rib cook, and again perfection. Looking forward to a brisket this weekend. The only downfall is getting the grill setup. Seems to fail on connecting to wifi. But the cooking is perfection.

This grill is a game changer. I can bbq like a Pitmaster. Thank you Masterbuilt and my family thanks you.

I bought my MB GS 1050 at the beginning of January 2021. Since then I have used it 2-3 times a week. Coming from a pellet grill, I was concerned about the ease of use. I should not have worried, as this cooker is very simple to operate. The speed of obtaining the ambient temp I want is amazing. The temperature fluctuations are very minimal compared to my pellet grill. The smoke and flavor are a night and day difference. Needless to say, I haven't opened the lid on my old cooker since this arrived. I am very happy with my decision to purchase this product.

Got my 1050 3 weeks ago. My background in backyard cooking is gas grills and a cheap stick burner smoker. I really wanted the convenience of a set and forget pellet grill but I did not want to scarface the taste and bark you can only get from a stick burner. My friends with high end pellets were trying to sway me otherwise. I'm happy to report the 1050 not only matched the performance of my old sticker burner but has far exceeded it. I have smoked 2 briskets so far and the ease of the process makes them more a pleasure to cook rather than a 12 hour punishment. I primarily eat steaks for dinner during the week. The ability to easily and consistently reverse sear steaks while monitoring them from my phone has been awesome. My only regret is not buying a 1050 sooner. It would of saved me a few ruined cooks and hours of time.

Purchased this grill on sale. Im experienced in grilling, but never smoked any food. This grill is great for both. With my inexperienced in smoking food, this grill makes it easy. This grill seems solid all around except for the door switches... Hence the reason for 4 stars. Out of 5, id give it a 4.9 to be honest.
