I always had a hard time keeping temperatures consistent for a slow smoke. This gravity smoker is awesome for consistent temperatures. I don't waste money on meat that is cooked too fast any more. The gravity smoker produces moist and excellent smoked meats.
I have had the grill for over a year and never had an issue yet , I got rid of my pellet grill and big smoker this does it all !!
I am very happy with the grill and how it performs. The set it and forget it is very nice and the food is fantastic. This grill lands a 3 star overall due to the damage on the product. The box appeared to be in good condition but when assembly started, i found a large dent in the back of the grill as well as frame damage near the hopper. The frame was bent enough it took correction in order to get the leg to bolt on. I was very disappointed with the damage because this is the most expensive grill I have purchased.
Great smoker I love it recommended it to my son and he bought one for him and his father-in-law they both love theirs
I was introduced to the smoking world by my brother. And when he did a side by side comparison between his high dollar Terager and the Masterbuilt 560 the results were truly amazing!! I went home and bought my own!!! I will never grill or smoke anything without my Masterbuilt!!
I've been cooking and smoking on pellet grills for many years now. Their quality has improved, but the basic issue is that pellets simply don't have a lot of thermal energy potential, so it takes a long time to heat them up, and they don't get all that hot. I decided to pick up the 1050 (and sell my last pellet grill) because I had good experience running temperature control systems on my old charcoal kettles, and I really liked the idea of being able to get to 700F+. Assembly went fine, the parts were solid and everything fit. I connected it to my wifi and it apparently didn't need a firmware update, but there doesn't seem to be a way to force a check. The app could be better. I'd prefer to see fewer self-tapping screws in the rest of the assembly and general fit and finish is 'ok' but we'll see how everything holds up. Burn-in was amazing. The directions say to run it at 250F for an hour, and then increase it to 400F for 30 minutes. After the 60 minutes at 250, I used the app to increase the temp and then watched the display change. It literally jumped up to 400F in one minute. I was amazed. Ambient temps were low 60s, no wind, but still, it was remarkable. Tomorrow I'm doing a leg of lamb, and spare ribs the day after, so hopefully everything will work out. But so far, so good!
I've owned this grill since December and have smoked 3 briskets, 2 pork shoulders, and grilled several hamburgers, steaks, and chicken breasts. It gives me much better flavor than my gas grill or electric smoker. It's easier/more efficient than traditional charcoal grills. I have 2 complaints about it that appeared to have been corrected with the updated 560 model. This includes cheap door switches that frequently fail and have to be "fixed" by spraying WD-40 and pushing them in and out several times before they're operable again and a charcoal grate that allows too large of charcoal chunks to fall into the tray. It's a shame the company doesn't provide these upgrades for free to customers who own the original 560 model. If it weren't for these issues, I would be completely satisfied.
great starter product for the future of eliminating pellet sawdust electric smokers, you have to start somewhere, hats of to you for starting this great product design. I believe you will work out the issues as long as you listen to your customers, you have great customer support. Grilling always started with the taste of charcoal!!! I love my masterbuilt gravity series 1050!!! I also wish you would incorporate the cast iron griddle in the 1050 and the 560 series, giving us all the chance to do hibachi on the weekends!! thank you for this great product, give us more updates on software!! once again I love it, the taste is awesome, and the ease of use is unsurrpasable!! the switches for the doors are junk!! a simple toggle swutch would do jist fine!!
So, I love this grill. However, I've had some issues with it. My manifold after one season basically rusted out but is being replaced under warranty. Now my second cook of this season and mid smoke on some ribs I noticed the grill wasn't holding temperature even though the thermometer in the controller stated it was at temp. Used another thermometer inside the grill and at 250° was about 80° off. Tried to compensate by turning up the grill and it just struggled to get to temp where in the past to go from 250° to 550° took a matter of a minute at most. This time I actually never got to the desired temperature. I love this grill it makes food phenomenally but I've had some issues hopefully master built to rectify this.
I was given this grill as a gift from my son last year. I have used it several times and have been happy with it except for the lid and door switches both failed at different times and during smoking a pork but and a brisket. I had to bypass the switch each time to complete the cooking.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
