After 20+ years using a grill brand whose quality has been in decline, I was open to exploring alternatives last Father's Day. I read about Masterbuilt's gravity feed innovation on the web but wasn't able to view one in person. This made me a little skeptical about quality, but I also have an electric Masterbuilt smoker that has been tremendous so I took a chance and ordered the 1050 online (sight unseen). First, I was excited that the box weighed >300 pounds. This signifies durable steel and not thin gauge sheet metal. Second, the assembly process made evident the degree of engineering that went into this product. Third, it works as advertised. Cell phone temperature control; stable flame; no direct heat; ... ; no excuse not to make perfect food every time!
I bought this with my GS800 at the beginning of the month. Had both for less than a week. I used my rotisserie for the first time tonight. I experienced the same problems as everyone else. The rotisserie froze up, switched direction, and unthreaded itself from the motor. It's a design problem the Masterbuilt needs to fix. I fixed mine by grinding material off each end of the spit adapter.
Recently purchased the rotisserie. The first use was perfect with a full size pork loin. But this second time the motor will only rotate the chicken 90 degrees, makes a clicking sound, stops and then reverses rotation, only to stop at 90 degrees, makes a clicking sound and reverses rotation. I discovered this after about an hour of cooking, so only half the chicken was cooked. I tried tightening n loosening the bolt n shaft. But still couldn't give a 360 rotation. I still haven't been able to solve the issue

This was a birthday present from my girlfriend. I did a lot of research prior to purchase. This was the only one that had all the features I wanted: grill, griddle, rotisserie and smoker. I am still experimenting, but all items I have tried to cook have turned out great. YouTube videos help greatly in set up and cooking. I am very happy with my Masterbuilt 800!
If I were to say something - Leave plenty of time for assembly, much more complex than expected. Also the ash bucket door came packed wrong and it rolled the seal on the bottom, seems not to seal well. I try to tuck it up when I cook.

I bought my Masterbuilt gravity 1050 several months ago and I'm loving it I'm hoping to come out with a 48 inch it will be perfect for my barbecue restaurant

Great way to get the Joe started. Light one of thes bad boys and let it do it's thing.
The wiring for the fan failed within 1 month of owning this grill. Support is nonexistent. I have never regretted a purchase as much as this one. Absolute trash. And the Android App is useless even when the grill works.

Incredibly easy to install and use. Rotated two chickens really well.

We bought our 560GS just after the 4th of July and have used it about half a dozen times. I am very pleased with the uniformity of cooking temperature throughout the cooking area. I also am quite pleased with how fast it gets to temperature, once it gets going. The assembly went smoothly, and aside from some metallic debris rattling around inside the door (for which a magnetic probe is the ticket) there were no problems getting this together and ready to operate. There are a few issues that I've experienced so far using this model: The blue LEDs and the reflective plastic panel combine to make the digital display on the controller nearly impossible to read in daylight. The digital display initially shows the temperature ramp-up to the set point but after reaching it, and my having changed to temperature to another value, it no longer displays the actual temperature but continues to display the set point. FOB? Grease ran down one leg and pooled around the wheel until I made an (ever so slight) adjustment in leveling the unit. Not much allowance for variation. There are 4 temperature sensor ports on the controller. This unit came with one probe. Lighting the charcoal is troublesome unless one uses fire starter wafers or whatever they're called to stuff into a very small space. Twisted paper is a waste of paper. The gaps in the steel grate that holds the charcoal in the chute allow half-burn coals to drop into the ash pan. The latches on the doors are troublesome to use, as there is a lot of side-to-side play in the mechanism (not how tightly they pull the door closed, but in a non-adjustable way). Wire tie-downs or guides would've been a good feature, helping to keep the sensor leads and power cord out of the way. Aside from these few items, I have been happy with the performance of this model and would recommend it to those who are looking for a less-than top of the line smoker/barbecue.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
