I've had my 1050 for a little over a year. I love the flavor it adds with charcoal and the capabilities from smoke to sear is impressive. Sadly you can't leave it for smoking. The sensors are so frustrating. I'm constantly opening and closing lids and doors to get the fan to kick back on. The rest of the time I'm banging on latches or the fan to get them going. The grill is a great concept but I have to babysit it more than my traditional smoker. If they upgrade the electronics it will be an amazing grill/smoker.

I've had this grill for about 10 months. I noticed a few months ago that it was very slow to heat up. It was taking 20-25 mins to get to 300 degrees would sometimes not achieve higher than 400 degrees even after 40 mins. I went through the manual, did my own troubleshooting, and searched online but didn't find a solution. Last week I decided to to a thorough clean of everything thinking that might help. I was shocked to find rust and warping in the charcoal hopper. I've kept it clean, dry and covered the entire time. While scraping it, pieces started coming off and I realized that big sections of the interior wall were disintegrating and white, fluffy insulation was now exposed. How long have I been eating or inhaling insulation? I contacted support a week ago and haven't received a response. When I first got it, I loved this grill and I'm very disappointed that this is how it's turned out.

I have had both smokers and they work both the same way. I did not expect them to work as well with the stump costing so much more, but it does. They both have pros and cons. The Stump charges more for their smoker, it doesn't come with a temperature control unit. But it does have more rack space and it is totally insulated weather is not a factor with it. With the Masterbuilt, temperature control unit is as good as any Guru I ever used. Lighting it is far superior than the Stump. The size of the shoot and grate is well design to handle wood chunks and charcoal. The only flaw in the design is when it is rainy or cold it will eat more charcoal, this is due to the fact it is not insulated as well. Over all I would recommend this smoker to anyone looking for a good pit to put out good BBQ.

I love this grill!!! I spent six months looking for a grill after I moved into my new house. I wanted the ease of a pellet feeder with the flavor and smokiness of charcoal and this device wins it all. The griddle makes fajitas deliciously simple and quick. The temperature control is an amazing help and has so far proven to be accurate. I've had the grill about a month and a half now and so far so good.

I ordered the 800 in early March and was told 7-14 business days to ship. I understand the "times" but it's been well over double the 14 business days and still nothing shipped after multiple communications. To top it off I can't cancel the order seeing they shipped the charcoal and starter I ordered at the same time. They would rather spend the money to ship it to me and back to them than just simply cancel the grill shipment. I ended up buying the 1050 locally since no one carries the 800 near by me. So far it seems good. Assembled and seasoned yesterday and made a couple brats. I give the grill so far 4 stars and the logistics of the shipping/processing 1 star. It's been over 30+ business days and still nothing after being put on the "priority" list two weeks ago.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
