Pretty smart design. Lengthy installation, but once set up starts up quick. Works well with the app. Griddle is great. Pizza Oven is okay, that is a tougher cook but isn't easy to get into, pull pizza out. And pizza can easily slide out the back. Eats through charcoal. Internal parts have gotten rusty quickly. Might need to upgrade to the 3rd party stainless. Holds temp very nicely over long period of time. Have been able to smoke by mixing chips in with the charcoal as well as purchasing a 3rd party rack to let the wood smolder from the falling hot coals. They get eaten up quickly so if doing a longer smoke will need to reinsert wood in the coal basin a few times. The digital display doesn't seem to scroll anymore between temp and time clock. Not sure why, but I guess not needed if you are just using the app. I purchased extra temp sensor and have successfully used 2 temperature probes at once on the app and that was a plus.
I've had my Gravity 800 for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier. I've been grilling on gas for years mostly because of the convenience. Yet the flavor was always missing something and I knew it was the lack of charcoal. I grew up with charcoal kettle grills And the flavor couldn't be beat but charcoal take time mostly not to mention if I only want to grill 1 or 2 steaks I'm burnt thru a lot of charcoal. When I saw this product a few years back I was sold but life but busy. I finally got my hands on one and I'm so happy. The flavor is amazing and the start up and shutdown are simple and fast. long low and slow smokes are simple with so much flavor and color. I have a MB 30" vertical electric I don't think I'll use it again after the results I got from the Gravity series maybe for hanging sausage and meatsicks only. And the griddle worked flawlessly . My only request from Masterbuilt is please offer a full size warming rack for the center similar to the 1050 for more cooking space. and a water pan add on. I really recommend this unit

I really enjoy cooking on this grill. I like the range of temperature selection and it does a great job of holding the desired temperature. It got kind of bent up in the delivery process but that's not Masterbuilt's fault, just the shipper they used. I was able to straighten the bent pieces out and all was good. The controller display went out early on but an email to customer service got that resolved promptly with a replacement controller. The other problem I've had and still have is the top slide that blocks the air is very hard to remove and even harder to insert. I emailed customer service about that twice and they said it was due to the slide being rusted and declined to help. The slide is stainless steel and isn't rusted just slightly discolored from the heat. It's the slot that the slide goes into that seems to be too tight possibly from being warmed from the heat. The fact that customer service blow me off will probably keep me from buying and additional Masterbuilt products. Like I said, I like the grill but really think customer service could have done more to ensure my future business.
I have always had charcoal grills and have struggled with keeping consistent temperatures with them. I bought this a few months ago and I wish I would have boughten one sooner. This is the best grill I have ever cooked with. A friend of mine was visiting and we grilled steaks on my Masterbuilt he was so amazed that he ordered one for himself as soon as he returned home. You get the flavor of charcoal grill with the control of a gas grill!! Simply amazing product
I use these all the time! Perfect for my Gravity 800 series! Sometimes I use them in my charcoal chimney for my older web grill if I feel like just sitting around outside with the dogs.
Very impressed, I love quality, an this grill fits that criteria. Highly suggested

I don't have time to babysit a stick burner and my electric smoker just wasn't big enough. I have had my MB Gravity Series 1050 for three years now. Can't say enough about it. I've smoked brisket, ribs, pork butt, tenderloin, and queso. All of them have turned out great. The good: Easy to get started, just plug it in, set the temp, load the hopper, light it and within a few minutes you're up to temperature and smoking meat. Pick the wood to mix with charcoal in the hopper. I have used chunks of hickory, mesquite, pecan and apple. Being from Texas, pecan and mesquite are pretty plentiful. I layer charcoal and wood until the hopper is full. Great wood smoked flavor. If you haven't made smoked queso, do it. The Not So Good: Assembly is a little daunting The lid switches can go bad. They are easy to change out but you want to have a couple on hand in case they go out during the middle of a cook. The fan will not run if the switch doesn't show the lids closed. I can squeeze about 6-8 hours out of a full hopper but I've never got twelve hours out of a full hopper. Overall, I have loved having the 1050. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Definitely keep it clean and cover it to protect it from weather. Three years and it is still chugging along.
Has been through rain, snow, wind, kids, and lots of sun and has kept the grill protected.
I use this to start my Masterbuilt 800, and it starts every time.
I bought the Gravity Series 800 about 8 months ago. I am impressed with the quality of this grill, the large temperature range you can utilize to smoke and sear as well as all of the variables you can use with the charcoal to get the flavors you want. The controller keeps excellent temperature. I am looking forward more great meals this year!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
