Key Features
- New Smoke Box to cook with pellets, wood chunks or chips, or charcoal
- Down & Out Ventilation for even heating
- Compatible with Sidekick components for cooking versatility
- Expanded chamber height
The Camp Chef Woodwind 36 Pro WiFi grill makes it easier to cook outdoors. Period. The combination of advanced features and smartphone monitoring and control gives you power to control the smoke and heat, and keeps you posted on the progress of your cooking. Not since Fred threw a dinosaur rib on an open fire has outdoor cooking been more appealing!
Smoke Box
If you want a little more smoke and more smoke flavor than you may get with pellets alone, the reinvented Smoke Box lets you cook with wood pellets, wood chunks or chips, and even charcoal. Use the damper to simultaneously control heat and flavor.
Down & Out Ventilation
The Woodwind Pro heat diffuser optimizes your smoking by pushing smoke and heat up the sides of the grill, then circulating and eventually exiting it through the rear exhaust. You will get even heat and smoke throughout the smoking chamber. With the Fan Only mode, you can cold smoke with the Woodwind Pro 36.
WiFi Controller + Camp Chef Connect
The Woodwind Pro WiFi line includes a full-color display with an easy-to-use menu dial, four ports for temperature probes, and a weather-resistant cover. The Camp Chef Connect app lets you monitor your cook from anywhere on your smartphone. You can set timers, check data from past cooks, assign labels to your probes, and set up push notifications. The included Smart Meat Assistant even lets you select meat types. It does not get much easier than this!
Smoke Number
The PID controller helps you regulate smoke and temperature. You can control how much smoke you provide to your cook by adjusting the Smoke Number. The detailed controller gives you the most precise grill temperature control in the industry. Increase the Smoke Number, and your smoke output increases. As the Smoke Number decreases, the temperatures will hold steady. Now you can ask your friends, what is YOUR smoke number?
Stainless Steel Components
Protecting your grill against rust and corrosion helps it last for many years. The Woodwind Pro 36 uses 430 stainless steel on the inside, and the butterfly valve, gasket, and burn cup use 304 stainless steel.
Sidekick Compatible
Expand your outdoor cooking capabilities by adding a Sidekick Flat Top griddle or a Sidekick Searing Station to your pellet grill. A Sidekick mounts easily to your existing side shelf holes. The Sidekick components are propane-powered.
Ash Cleanout
While hardwood pellets typically burn efficiently, they usually leave some ash behind. The Woodwind Pro 36 provides an Ash Cleanout to let you quickly and easily remove ash. Simply pull the Ash Cleanout knob on the side of the grill, and your ash empties into a cup that you can remove. Just dump the ash safely, replace the cup, and you are ready for your next cook!

Many years ago, I started my meat smoking journey on an ugly drum smoker. I bought my first pellet grill about 7 years ago and it was a game changer because I could smoke a pork butt overnight and actually get some sleep. However, while the grill produced good tasting food the smokiness didn't meet my expectations. I purchased the WWPro36 about 8 months ago. I believe Jeremy Yoder - Mad Scientist BBQ - said something to the effect that the WWPro is a game changer. I agree with him. The smoke box and adjustable vents in the back give the pit master more control over the overall smokiness of the final product. The adjustable vents also help you control how quickly the smoke passes over the food and exit the pit. I believe the WWPro is a solid pellet grill. The smoke box has helped me dial in the smoke level. I also like using the upper rack for long cooks. However, I can see why the upper rack comes in two pieces. Sometimes it can be in the way so stacking the two halves helps. But when doing a large brisket, the two pieces can be a pain. The WWPro36 can handle a lot of food. Just recently, I cooked 12 racks of ribs and the next day I did a couple of pork butts, and everything came out tender and smoky. Camp Chef really helps the pit master out when it's time to clean up. The ability to dump the ash cup and pellets really helps. My last grill didn't have those features. I can't speak to how well the WWPro36 does as a grill. I only use it as a low and slow pit however, this is what this thing does best. Now on to the build quality, I think my previous grill was a better built, but in reality, I don't have any big complaints about the WW Pro. When it arrived, the box was damaged, but Camp Chef replaced the damaged parts. I also think the smoke box handle will be a problem after repeated use and you have to be careful; the front of the grill can get hot. I recommend this pit.
I purchased my Woodwind Pro 36 a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. This smoker is so user friendly and has performed way beyond my expectations. The smoker box is one of my favorite features because it allows you to get that bark and smokey flavor that so many other more expensive in a lot of cases smokers fail to achieve. I've done chuck roasts, ribs, chicken, and recently did a huge housewarming BBQ and my ribs made on the Woodwind Pro 36 were the star of the show!!
I bought this 1 months ago and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I was debating between the 24 and 36 and I'm glad I went with the 36.
I love this grill. The smoke box adds so much to my cooks by letting me control the flavor more and creating the best bark on a pellet grill.
Camp chef already makes a great product, but they outdid themselves with the WWP36. The smoke box brings a whole new level that my old woodwind was missing. My brother has the apex and it puts out amazing food. We did a head to head smoke of brisket using same cut of meat. Same seasoning, same temp. Only difference was I had the smoke box and the end result was night and day! WWP36 brisket was far superior and reminded me of a brisket from an offset smoker!
Well built. Actually tight welded stainless steel. So solid. Smokes great. Game changer is the added smoke box so you can add whatever wood chunks you prefer without changing pellets. Bluetooth wifi is a must. I can change temp smoke when I'm on a ride or at store. Insulated lid keeps the heat within 2 degrees. Awesome awesome piece of machinery.
My dog passed away this year suddenly. We fought together but eventually we had to make the decision to say goodbye. With a prolonged battle and vet bills and hospital stays comes a massive amount of debt. About $12,000 on a credit card. Not one to just beg for money to help out or start a gofundme I decided why not have a BBQ in memory of my dog Bruce. People can make donations to help us raise the money we need to pay down some of that credit card. With the Woodwind Pro the menu included Brisket, Pork butt, pork belly burnt ends, Mac and cheese and baked beans. All of which were prepared on the woodwind pro 36inch. This idea wouldn't have even been a thought had it not been for this amazing grill and its ease of use. Thank you Campchef for helping me say goodbye to my best friend and beloved pet with some great BBQ and great friends.
I had a Weber Smokefire at first and while it was good at smoking, it would not get to the 600 degrees that it advertised. After extensive research I landed on the Woodwind Pro and couldn't be happier! The unit did come slightly damaged and I had to bend a piece of metal that was in the way of the fan. After that, the unit functioned as it should. The build quality is excellent and I think the unit produces great flavor. I love the versatility! I have smoked tons of different stuff in many different ways. I have yet to try a brisket but will soon. As for the sidekick sear, It serves its purpose, but could use some improvements. The infighter always takes 2-3 tries to get lit witch isn't the worst, but the knob itself is not good. there is about 1/4 inch of free play which means if you have it set to medium, it could actually be on high and vice versa. A more quality knob with better tolerances would provide a much better experience. I usually just go by sound to see where it is at. Lastly, I get lots of flareups with the sear. If there is anything fatty like chicken thighs or fatty steak, it flares up instantly and engulfs the entire thing in flames causing the food to be charred on the outside and raw on the inside. I am going to buy some GrillGrates for it to see if that improves the issue.
I have been using this since October of 2022. This is a game changer for smoke flavor from a pellet grill. Huge improvement over pellets alone. The controller and build of the grill is very good. This is my 2nd camp chef. The 1st one is one of the old 24's I got 8 to 10 years ago and it is still running strong with no rust or issues. The only thing done to that grill was upgrading the controller for the smoke control. So Camp Chef has excellent build quality history as well.
This grill really makes a difference Temps are very stable and it cook my brisket way faster the results are insane all the brisket that I cook before I could never achieve a brisket like the one I cook in this grill it worth every penny customer service is very good also.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
